It's a fairytale AU where a dark magic has taken over the land in the form of a giant thorns swallowing up entire villages and Erik enters the thorns in search of ending the curse. Charles is a witch he finds inside. Erik mistakenly kills Charles to end the curse but realises he was tricked by Shaw.
