Rave on. This site is fucking exhausting. It’s hard to predict when people will pull something out of context just to maintain their constant rage hard-on. And there are so many real things to be pissed off about right now.
UGH YES!!! it is frustrating too bc there is so much hypocrisy in it, like certain people get a free pass and certain people are just fair game for attack, i would hate that to happen to jerry seinfeld bc he really doesnt deserve it. there are people who do and say things that are truly toxic, it is exhausting watching people attack other people instead. also of course my first thought is that people still hate on bono even though honestly tumblr should be obsessed with him bc he is such an ally to women, the lgbt community, is an activist for political change, etc, but he isnt “cool” so fuck him. it is so exhausting..

I think comedy development is just not a tumblr-compatible process because everything here has to be phrased delicately like an end-result, not like, something you’re still thinking of
UGH YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT THIS. i feel like tumblr is sooooooo close-minded and ready to hate anything that rubs them the wrong way and i just don’t understand that mentality. i would much rather try to understand something instead of jumping to attack it. so i guess being into comedy requires a lot of that, enjoying it without actively looking for things that are problematic. there is genuinely offensive stuff that people have every reason to call out, but so much of the stuff tumblr hates just baffles me.

I'm sure it feels a lot weirder than a persistent eyelid twitch, but it's probably no different. I had one in my arm once for a whole day. It's probably from kind of strain.
yeah you might be right about the strain bc i’ve been having issues with a nerve in my spine with pain that travels up to my jaw for the same amount of time that the twitching has been going on so maybe it’s connected to that?? why are bodies Like This

It seems that being wildly popular also brings with it a certain amount of ridicule and hate, which neither they nor you deserve. I'll back you up any day. There is no shame in loving a band that gives such joy and comfort to you. <3

(Also re: U2 and popularity, I get your comments. But from my experience, it’s kinda rare for an artist of their calibre to get the kind of hate that U2 does. If you take a shit on most other classic rock artists, you’re belittled for it - the power is not on your side. Unless you have other U2 fans on hand, their popularity doesn’t seem to work as a defence. Maybe it’s just in my age group, but I’ll still get mocked relentlessly even if I say “yeah but they’re hella popular and hella classic.” Anyway! It continues to mystify and boggle me. I wish we could at least get an “I don’t like them but I recognize their influence/impact” outta these folks.)
