"They need mud to grow." The boy rolled up his sleeves and dug his hands into the soil and water until they mixed."

"A cliché." The boy said quiety.

The girl frowned. "I dislike flowers."

"I thought Hufflepuffs loved all of botany and herbology."

"A stereotype" The girl gave a small smile.

BONOTT - THEODORE X SUSAN

"What if I wanted to fight?"

He didn't return to Hogwarts from the Christmas break in 1997. Their last meeting was on the Hogwarts Express.

As Susan sits by the bedside she thinks about Professor Dumbledore’s quote and what a fucking cliche it truly was. People only wanted it to be for those who were categorized as brave, intelligent, and unafraid of toil.

Theodore Nott came back to the school unseen three weeks before the battle. When all thought he had followed into his father’s footsteps or dead. He came back and stayed. Theodore remained in the Great Hall as his house was dismissed by Professor McGonagall.

The Battle of Hogwarts on May 2, 1998 was not his first battle but it would be his last for a while. Theodore dueled his father to the death and witnesses would say it was sight to behold. On par with the duel between Molly Weasley and  Bellatrix Lestrange.

Truculent Nott may have gotten the last blow with his dying breath but not the last say. Theodore was hit with the near fatal Expelling Entrails Curse. The elder Nott disowned his heir all in name at the height of the war but not on paper. Theo was ever the clever serpent, he slipped Susan the proper documentations before his death. After the war there wasn’t a trace of the Nótt Fortress left except for the land it once sat on.
