How important is the pregnancy to the overall story? If it’s needed then it’s a good thing and it’s not cliche. As long as there’s a reason for it and not just a temporary dilemma with either the sappy or the tragic ending. But that’s just my opinion

Alright, so logic and common sense prevail. Luckily I've got plenty of both. Now I'm questioning whether it's necessary, but I guess that's okay.
