The amount of bullshit I can take from a book is in exact proportion to the amount I like a book.

Like, with the Grisha Trilogy, which I’m not a huge fan of, I basically flipped my shit when Mal was magicked back to life for no real reason.

But when Farid and Dustfinger came back to life in the Inkheart Trilogy, which I LOVE, I just kind of went ‘Sure, why not’

There's always this fictional girl character from a book who's academically intelligent but when it comes to matters like love and logic, she becomes a total dumbass.

Some of my least favorite books are the worst worn. The Scarlet Letter, My first ever copy of Hamlet, The Pearl, I read them over and over trying to find a way to love the story but found I just couldn't...until I realized that in itself was a form of love. I might not get a warm happy feeling feeling when I was finished with the story, but I kept reading the stories over and over. And isn't that what great stories are supposed to do? An unquenchable yearning for a story is better than loving a book you wish to only read once, right?

Time for book buying logic with Liza!

The paperback logic: If you want a book that has a paperback version that is half the hardback price that means you can buy two paperbacks because you're getting two books for the price you'd pay for one hardback.

The it's on sale logic: If a book is on sale you are allowed to buy it. Especially if it's a pretty version of the book. Even if you are going over your book budget just remember, it's a book you'll probably buy eventually and if you get the one on sale now in the end you're saving money.

And this is how I make myself feel better about buying too many books.
