The Muppet vampire, Count von Count from Sesame Street, is based on actual vampire myth. One way to supposedly deter a vampire is to throw seeds (usually mustard) outside a door or place fishing net outside a window. Vampires are compelled to count the seeds or the holes in the net, delaying them until the sun comes up.

Oh! ive actually heard this one before! Same thing with broom sticks as well right? They would count the straw?

Who is this man in my Domain? He reeks of sin, a gambler and an alcoholic. However it seems he has done some atoning for his sins. He is not a child of mine nor is a heretic. He is but a trespasser, but how did he stumble here is beyond my knowledge. However should he meddle in the affairs of my children, this man will be punished for his transgressions.
