Finishing A Great Series
Okay, so I am sure that everyone who is reading this has been there: you just finished off a series.
If you haven’t been here I’m not quite sure how you found my blog, but I greatly encourage you to join us book lovers and go out and read a series. Possible recommendations include Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Throne of Glass, Outlander, and many more. Go ahead and join me in just finishing The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken, it will hurt but it will be worth it.
So, back on topic; I just finished a series and have hit that book blues stage of doing so. Let’s be honest, finishing a series is often worse than just finishing a stand alone. With a series you had the comfort of knowing, for so long, that there was another book once you finished the one you were currently reading. That may be why it takes me so long to finish the final book in a series. Because who really wants the book to end? You grow close to the characters, get immersed in the world, and then that final page comes. And its just over.
Well I want to say that the only thing I can think to do now is start another book. I am actually in need of reading the second book in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon so I will be starting with that but I had to make a post on the heartbreak of closing a book on characters that I have grown to love. I’ve been thinking of writing a review on the last book of the Darkest Minds series, and possible a review on the books as a whole. Maybe just a book talk, because lets be honest I tend to ramble on and it would be WAY more than just a review.
Let me know if you guys would be interested in that. Love you guys!
