I’m madly taking photos, basically trying to get an entire month sorted before I have to pack up my books and move. This was one of my favorite books of 2016. Inspired by a Polish fairytale, this story has incredible world building and fantastic characters. Neiska is brave and loyal and refuses to be intimidated by the Dragon, the powerful wizard who watches over the region and protects it from the Wood. The story was well-paced and the conflict was compelling. I really liked the magic system too. I also enjoyed how Nieska's character undergoes a gradual change. She's chosen by the Dragon because of her magical potential. I loved how we see her abilities take time to develop and eventually she grows into her powers, embracing her abilities. I can never make up my mind but I think green books may be my favourite. Or one of my favourites, anyway. I do have a soft spot for purple… and blue… and red… and yellow…

12 Mar 2016. #BookishMarch16: Book Received as a Gift | #NerdyBookChallenge: Insta-Buy Author | #AusYAChallenge: Set in the Future | #BookishMarch: Cover Love. Did the stars align for this day of prompt or what?! One photo for four out of eight challenges ain’t bad. I saw the hardback version of #Illuminae for the first time ever last week and I am in LOVE. I should probably actually read this book before I go buying multiple copies but the temptation was real.
