They've been a couple of months in the making, but I'm finally in a spot where I can show the bookmarks that I've made for myself and a couple of friends
This is going to be a semi long post due to the photos, so they'll be shown under the cut
Is the one that I made for myself
Is the one that I made for my friend @xste11e
And
Is the one that I made for my friend @blu3cl0v3rs
They're by no means perfect and definitely do look handmade around the edges, but considering that hand sewing isn't my strong point, and this is my first time doing anything like this, I think they turned out fine enough. The cross-stitch part is the main attraction anyway, and that turned out amazing on all of them
This illustration is the first bookmark I have made for the bookmark project. Tangled is one of my favourite disney films so I have made a little watercolour bookmark of Rapunzel in the tower with her long hair wrapping around it. Painted with watercolours with added pencils and fine liner and some metallic watercolours on top to add a little sparkle.
The bookmark project is a charity auction of bookmarks run by a brownie unit in West Yorkshire to help raise money for a school in Africa. This bookmark is the first of 5 I have made. Check out @slhattersley for more information about the bookmark project if you want to get involved.
My 4th and final bookmark for the bookmark project is this fox in the night sky one. This is a remake of a painting I did at the start of January. I like the idea of this and I think I want to redo it again as a print. This painting was made with watercolours, acrylic, pen, felt tip and metallic ink. the bookmark project 2025 is to raise money for a school in Zimbabwe and the bookmark auction goes live in May so stay tuned.

The second bookmark i made for the #bookmarkproject is this flowery one that says "shh... I'm reading." I tried out using masking fluid for the first time since sixth form to block out the letters as I originally wanted it white but didn't like how I turned out so I went with black bold letters that stand out from the green. The background is done with watercolours and acrylic. What the photo doesn't show very well is the metallic watercolours on top to make it extra pretty. The bookmark is painted on to a thick watercolour paper.
