Kevin woke up in the middle of the night to cold, gross sheets soaked in sweat. His head was absolutely killing him. And he was boiling, which was surprising since nights were usually cold in uganda. He lazily kicked the moist sheets off of his sweaty body, and curled up attempting to fall back asleep again. Which he did.
When he woke up again, instead of hot he was freezing. He pulled his scratchy blanket up over his head, and curled up in a ball underneath them. He stayed like this for a while, trying to fall back to sleep to no avail, the brunette boy finally decided he might as well get dressed.
When he finally finished struggling through his morning routine he waltzed into the small kitchen of the mission hut. As he rubbed his eyes and yawned, he heard a voice that he recognized as Elder Mckinnley speak, "Well, look who's finally awake." the ginger teased, as he washed a dish in the small sink.
"You missed breakfast, Elder Cunningham wanted to wake you up but, I felt you've earned a little extra rest" Mckinnley said as he scrubbed at an off white plate. "Mmn not 'ungry anyway" Kevin slurred tiredly. Mckinnley looked back at Kevin with an expression of concern, which oddly reminded him of his mother, he would have laughed if he didn't feel so shitty.
"Elder Price, are you feeling ok, you seem kinda off" The shorter man asked, he voice laced with concern. "Oh 'mm fine Elder Mckinley i'm just tired." Kevin said almost fumbling over his words.
With a dissatisfied frown Mckinnley walked over to Kevin, before stretching his freckled arm up, to place his hand on Kevin's forehead.
The redhead tsked and placed his hands on his hip, "Elder Price, you have a fever, go on back to bed you need rest." The other Elder said rather matter-of-factly.
Kevin shakily ran his hand through his sweaty hair, "Elder Mckinnley im fine-" Mckinnley cut him off as he finished his sentence "No, no, no Elder Price as your district leader, I order you to get back into bed and rest." Kevin pouted "You aren't our district leader we aren't part of the church anymore" he whined. The redhead sighed.
"Kevin do you really wanna make this hard." Kevin flinched at his first name being used, but continued to protest nonetheless, "Elder i'm fine." the brunette insisted through gritted teeth.
Elder Mckinnley sighed an exasperated sigh, crossing his arms over his chest, and Kevin continued to pout. "Kevin please, you are gonna make yourself worse if you don't rest." Mckinnley pleaded. As Kevin was about to protest he could feel a warm burning feeling rising up his throat, then hot, putrid bile filling his mouth.
His hand instinctively clasped over his mouth as he bent over, vomiting mostly bile onto the kitchen floor. When he was done he gaged a few times before straightening back up and making eye contact with Mckinnley.
The older elder looked back at him, eyes wide with pure horror. "Yeah i should probably go back to bed." Kevin said with a sniff. "Yeah, yeah you should" The former district leader agreed
