Day 18: Pick your poison: Ebooks, audio or physical // #booksofjune17 . . . I love today's prompt! It gives me the perfect chance to express my love for audiobooks. Okay so, obviously I really like to have physical copies of books because they look pretty on my shelves and nothing can replace the feeling of holding a book in your hands and being able to smell it. But, ebooks and audiobooks also have their perks. Ebooks are great because they're cheap and don't take up any space and you can highlight passages and search through the book very easily. Audiobooks are a different matter. I was introduced to audiobooks three years ago by my best fried and I've been addicted to them ever since. Before that I didn't really have any time to listen to audiobooks, but around that period I started commuting to my university which takes up at least an hour (on a very very good day) so a lot of time opened up for me to listen to audiobooks. Later, I also started listening to audiobooks when doing pilates-that's how I got through all the novels for my 18th & 19th century British Novel class. Anyways, there are some drawbacks to listening to audiobooks-not liking the voice of the narrator (the voice of the woman reading Rainbow Rowell's Landline and her way of saying 'Neal' literally haunts my dreams, but the completely opposite thing happened with We Were Liars, where I finished the book only because I liked the voice of the woman reading it), loosing focus and having to go back or accidentally missing an important part are just some lf them. In the last couple of months I listened to 3 amazing audiobooks, which have since become my favorite audiobooks: Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham, The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher and Him & Me by Jack and Michael Whitehall. They are all memoirs, read by the authors and that's honestly the best genre for audiobooks-you don't have to be 100% focused, they're very easy to listen to and it's really enjoyable to listen to the authors reading their own books. And that's about it! Sorry about the long post, I just have a lot of love for audiobooks! 😘❤️📚 . . . #bookstagram #bookstgrammer #bookish #bibliophile #bookoftheda
