George R.R. Martin - A STORM OF SWORDS, Arya XIII
⤷ Innocence
“Tell me, child, why would you have sent Ser Loras?”Sansa had no choice but to explain about heroes and monsters. The king’s councillor smiled. “Well, those are not the reasons I’d have given, but…” He had touched her cheek, his thumb lightly tracing the line of a cheekbone. “Life is not a song, sweetling. You may learn that one day to your sorrow.”

So we could tag posts as book!sansa, book!sandor and book!sansan in reblogs and new content. Sounds good?

@thefeatherofhope I'm not sure that exclamation points work in tumblr tags/search. They might, I haven't checked, but special characters often act very weirdly, especially in themes. I'd test first to be sure, and if it doesn't work you might prefer using something like booksandor booksansan booksansa, or asoiafsandor etc
I tagged one of my replies with #book!sansan and when I tried to search for it, it indeed didn't work.
But bookSansan, bookSansa and bookSandor might? I tag this with them and let’s see...
EDIT: It did, searching by tag (https://www.tumblr.com/tagged/booksansan)
Unpopular opinion: I don't find Jon Snow that interesting as a character in either the books or the show
Book jon's not one of my faves, but I like him
Show Jon is just "who?"
In the first season, I didn’t think much of Sansa. However through out the second to fourth season, I realized how capable she is. She is incredibly resilient, going through one horror after another and is still capable of empathy and kindness. She is incredibly courageous, helping others (ex: Dontos/Margaery) even with the risk it entailed. She is forgiving, calming the Women at the Blackwater despite them laughing at her abuse. She is incredibly smart, knowing how to navigate the court like an expert, and hiding herself behind this fake love for Joffrey. She is an incredible manipulator, which showcased itself mostly at the Eyrie, but even in earlier seasons, she made small lies that went a long way for her. She is also very adaptable. She’s capable of changing the way she approaches things every time the political situation changes. Of course I could list things from later seasons but I personally think that her strongest seasons were from 2-4 because they taught me that there is real concrete strength in traditional femininity that is of the same value as the strength in traditional masculinity. That her crying, complaining or being put into a hostage situation doesn’t make her weak. It makes her human. I also think that vulnerability is another aspect of being strong and her being honest about her feelings and her fears to herself is proof of her strength. The fact that she was able to navigate life despite all these horrors is what made her BADASS. Sansa later on is cool and all but she’s just not the Sansa I fell in love with, rather more of what we stereotypically and lazily depict as being a “strong female character.” (colder, pessimist, killer). She is still my favorite character in the show though, so no disrespect there but what I love about her is that she is FEMININE and STRONG and that she is the perfect example of another way that we, as humans can be badass. I love how she still believes that even if the world isn’t good to her right now, that it can be in the future. I love how she spreads love, compassion, forgiveness and kindness around even to people who were horrible to her. I love how even the sight of her abuser dying was unsettling to her. I love how when she feels things, she feels them intensely. I love she would wear these soft lovely dresses. I love her how she loved to sing, dance, dress, play instruments, listen to romantic stories and write poetry. I’m so excited for book Sansa to continue being strong and badass, the way she always has been and the way she should have continued to be in the show.
The Lady of the Gift by the_moonmoth
The stable was gloomy and warm with the horses’ bodies. She had closed the door when she entered and put the bar across it, and now she stood before him, barely an arm’s breadth away, and he stared at her feet and waited to see what she had come for. Yet she did not speak, simply stood in silence, and Sandor could feel the weight of her eyes on him. Further down the stable, the she-wolf’s piebald courser whickered and Stranger snapped at him from his stall. The air was still and scented with musty horsehair and sweet-smelling hay. She had a small square of parchment in her hand, he saw. The hem of her gown was wet, as though she had been walking in the snow. And still she did not speak. He struggled briefly with himself before giving in to desire. Sandor raised his eyes and looked at her. And looked, and looked. Little bird.
I know this is an unpopular opinion but I adore AGOTSansa. I think she demonstrated quite a lot of positive qualities through out the first book. We get to see that she's very knowledgeable on heraldry and names, and can handle herself well in stressful situations (ex: her first meeting with Barristan/Renly), she's very empathetic and caring of others (ex: The Hound) even if they are sometimes not so nice to her, she's very perceptive, more than people realize. I love how courteous she is, how she wants nothing but to please others and how naively she views the world. I love how bratty she can get (ex: ''It will be a splendid event, you shan't be wanted'') and it really sets up her character for her outstanding character development. I really adored her in the first book and I thought that she was really sweet, but had her flaws and made her share of mistakes which made her more sympathetic, interesting and human to me and in a place which would allow her to grow and become the absolutely fantastic character she is now.
