While in the midst of writing my analysis paper on how @sdessen books continue to influence teen readers, I can't help but express how important The Truth About Forever is to me, especially for 15-year-old me. For the first time, I got to see a character who also lost her father try to cope with her giref by being perfect for everyone around her when really, she's falling apart inside. A girl who had to slowly learn that it's safe to open up and make mistakes, to embrace those mistakes. That it's okay not being perfect. It's been almost a decade and I've yet to read a book that has personally resonated so much as The Truth About Forever did. 💗💗#booksarepowerful #bookstagram
