My babies!! Decided to hop on the "shitty Eridian" bandwagon and have a go. It was a good chance to do material studies asw... I'll need to hit up the other shitty Eridians.

PROJECT HAIL MARY YAP THAT ISNT A YAP BECAUSE I DONT KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY FORMAT A YAP

ALSO SPOILERS? SORTA? GO WATCH THE MOVIE OR READ THE BOOK. OR BOTH. LIFETIME EXPERIENCE.

Something that I appreciate in Project Hail Mary’s soundtrack is the usage of motifs. Of course- you have the classic Grace motif, Rocky’s motif, but one I’ve picked up on, probably one of countless that my non-musician ears can’t differentiate from, but.

The clock motif. Obviously in Clock Numbers, but also The Message, Learning to Communicate, Rocky Moves In, and Believe in the Hail Mary (faintly) to name a few. It could, of course, just be the instrument used, but it sounds similar enough to me like clock hands ticking. This “motif”, if you so wish to call it such, is most often present when Grace and Rocky are working together. Moments of connection. Faith. Coexistence.

All things present when Grace first shows Rocky his clock and in turn, Rocky shows his own variation. A moment of bonding.

I am in no ways analytical enough for this, but it’s a fun little theory I’ve been bouncing around and I wanted to share it. PLEASE do let me know if you agree, disagree, anything. This media has taken firm root in my brain and I will be nowhere close to free anytime soon.

When the ERROR finally got its wish and the INK was too weak to stop it, the Multiverse was shredded. Countless worlds torn apart in the blink of an eye, countless years wasted. The BLIGHT was a ravenous thing. But the INK borrowed DETERMINATION from the Creators, its final stand. With that DETERMINATION, it sewed together as many multiverse inhabitants as it could. They would never be the same again, a neater amalgamation, mashed up minds and personalities. Only a few survived. Now they repeat the past, fighting against the mistakes of their past selves and each other endlessly.

From left to right, the new cast.

Gigabyte, a combination of Nightmare and Science, the leader of the Lightless like their predecessor.

Anguish, a mix of Epic and Cross, Gigabyte's right hand man.

Empathy, the last to be created by the INK, imbued with it, Killer, and Cross. A wildcard, unpredictable in every way, ones that not even the INK could see.

Novka, a combination of the INK and Dream, the leader of the Beacons. Morally grey but devoted to her goal.

Charcoal, a mix of the INK and Swap, the caretaker and heavy hitter of the Beacons.

Felony, an unlikely mix of Dust and Fell, surprisingly aligned with the Beacons. She plays her own role however and is usually only called when the Beacons require additional aid.

Wanted to do a little sketch of my most favorite worst monster, RGB!! In lieu of what's been happening lately, I decided to try my hand at expressing my love through trying him out. He's so fun to draw and I really liked how the sketch turned out, so upon ye I bestow terrible rendering.
