hi there! you're welcome to respond to this privately or not at all, completely up to you. i just wanted to make you aware of someone you appear to be mutuals with who goes by @/j4eyxn. not long ago, on the same blog, they faked their age in order to interact with 18+ content, including blogs that explicitly state they do not want minors engaging with their work. i wanted to pass this along so you can be cautious, as they have not taken accountability and have been deleting traces of it. the ss below shows them engaging with a nsfw author and sharing their thoughts with them on the 18+ fic they read.
okay. so let's unpack this in a very analytical way. this is not just a mistake that can be forgiven, much like plagiarism or cheating, it's a choice. reading smut as a minor not only contradicts every age boundary ever but it also disregards the writer's well set, clear boundaries. the MDNI tag exists for a reason, most if not all smit writers use either this tag or explicitly mention that's there's sexual / mature scenes or smut— you can't say you didn't see it, because from all I've seen, I've never come across a post where ZERO, absolutely ZERO warnings / content labels alluding to sexual conduct are not mentioned, if there is a post that is with no adults only / MDNI tags from any fic of the mentioned blog in the SS, I'd like to know.
now inserting my own story, I also faked my age in the first year-ish since I started this tumblr account, my reasoning was that I'm indian, I've seen online creep cases one too many times, and because of how young I am, I thought saying I'm an adult would be safer. I realize it is wrong, there are better ways than blatant lying and I WAS deeply apologetic and still am apologetic for that action. (I've already talked about this and apologized, if u want the main post just search "#serious note" on this account.) and during this period, I did ONCE react in the sense liked a post with smut in it, and the reason being was not that I read the smut and liked it, but it was for the plot and trope I liked, I completely skipped the smut scene and ever since the post where I've openly said my age, i don't read fics with smut, EVEN IF the trope and plot is good because I've also come to realize that the writers have set boundaries which are bound to be respected. now, I'm still good friends with an NSFW account, though I never read their smut works (they also write sfw, which is what I read) and that relationship is because she's amazing and not because she's a smut writer.
with everything said and my thoughts on this topic given, I come to riri. I'm disappointed. we were just starting to get to know eachother and I was so excited to form another bond, yet after this; I can't make myself forgive her. reading a fic for the plot not the smut is still excusable (barely, I still think of it as a mistake), but actively faking your age and praising the smut you read as an actual minor is not a mistake, it's a choice.
I will not be interacting with riri moving forward. thank you, this is my take and thoughts on this circulating situation, please don't hate on riri, rather just don't interact with her account— ignoring doesn't cause as much mental hurt and issues as hating a person will. hold people accountable for thier CHOICES and ACTIONS, don't choke them to death.
