How To Improve The Booting Speed Of Your Computer
We now live in a world where everything is done with the help of computers. The computers help us to do most of our work easily. Your computer must have enough speed and performance to compensate the booting speed and let your work finish on time and with ease. However, as the computer gets old, its performance reduces considerably. This reduction in performance can be due to the memory being used up by the files and programs or simply because of the passage of time. This computer slowing problems also affects on the booting time of the computer.
Try the following procedures to improve the booting speed of your old computer.
There are so many programs that start up automatically as you start your computer. If there are too many of such programs, it will slow down your computer. So it is better to disable such programs, which you don’t want. For that, open the start menu and click Run, and then type msconfigin the box and click Enter. Select the Start-up tab and uncheck all the programs that you don’t want to start up automatically and click OK.
Navigate through the start-up folder to find any other programs which are set to automatic start at the time of login. For checking this, open the start menu and click the All Programs. There you can see a start-up folder and in this folder you can see all the programs that start up automatically.
Since the removal of shortcuts in the program will not affect the program, you have to go to the program itself to change the settings or to remove the program entirely. In order to remove a program, you can either go to the program in the All Programs list or go to the Control Panel in the start menu and select the Add or remove options. From there, you can easily remove the programs.
Regularly do the maintenance like Disk Clean-up and Disk Defragmentation. This will help to keep your system clean and make space on your hard drive. You can find the tools for this by clicking the start, All Programs, Accessories and then System Tools.
In order to complete all the changes, restart your computer. When you log in again, there will be only a few programs that start automatically and this improves the boot time a lot.
If the computer slow problems are seen while booting your computer, try the above instructions to improve the booting speed.
