Bahrain International Circuit - Everything You Need to Know
Here we go with round 4 of the 2025 Formula one season!
The track was built December of 2002, designed by Hermann Tilke. Much like the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, developers had a large blank, sandy canvas. (read here about Sakhir)
The first GP held here at Bahrain International was in 2004, where Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher claimed victory in the 57-lap race.
This circuit is 5.412km long with a total race distance of 308.238km over the total 57 laps.
Current lap record was set by Pedro de la Rosa in 2005 with 1:31.447
We can usually expect fantastic racing and a reasonable number of overtakes. Driver have to fight against the wind, contend with racing under floodlights and the difficulty of finding a decent set-up with the temperature fluctuations between sessions.
There's a difficult point on the track at the tight, downhill turn 10 left hander, where drivers quickly have to bring the car back to life in time for the fast run through turn 12.
