Hey! I reblogged your post about transphobic MCR fans and was just wondering what “transmed” was?
Transmed is short for transmedicalist and they are transgender people who want being transgender medicalised/remedicalised as a condition and believe you have to be professionally diagnosed with dysphoria to be counted as a “true” transgender person. Some people think this doesn’t sound too bad in definition until you actually interact with transmeds and realise they don’t actually care about trans people, they just want us to conform to society’s standards of cis people, invalidate and misgender people who know they are trans but don’t hate their body, harass trans people into detransitioning if they don’t fit their standards, align themselves with conservatives and TERFs, among a lot of other things. @trans-mom has a transmed tag which explains a lot more why I dislike them so much here. Content warning for transphobia, though.
