#reneweverythingsucks! The show is relatable on so many levels. Although, I was only eight years old in 1996 and didn’t enter high school until 2002, I knew pretty early on that I was different. Whether it was the lonely freak who had weird hobbies and an encyclopaedic knowledge, or later, the quiet queer drama nerd and choir boy just trying to fit in. Kate talks about acceptance of being a freak and being true to yourself; wise words spoken by a wise young women. @everything.sucks has taught us that it’s okay to be different, it’s okay be a freak and most importantly, it’s okay to be yourself, which is something that not even all teachers embraCER. In the age of social media, chat rooms, YouTube comments and cyber bullying, this message is more than ever. It can be a difficult show to watch because it is so relatable. We were all Kate or all knew a Kate. #reneweverythingsucks so we can all embrace our inner freak!
