Monday, yellow Boris bike

I was going to walk from Kings Cross to the meeting room as it wasn't very far but then I saw the Tour de France edition Boris bike which was impossible to resist. Despite the yellow paint it was still as much of a tank as ever.

Friday, afternoon boris bike

Final boris bike ride of the trip and more judicious map consulting before hand meant a reasonably direct route although more local knowledge would have resulted in a different route that avoided climbing over the hill past Angel. It's not a big hill but it's safe to say that lightweight was not one of the design aims of the boris bike so any incline is to be avoided. And the downhills aren't ideal either as for a bike that's supposed to be used by people who may not cycle much they have remarkably twitchy handling. That may be the bag I attached to the bar rack but even without that I suspect they're not great. However, any bike ride is a good thing.

Friday, morning boris biking

Another boris bike ride, this time with Strava and this time with the more standard rather non optimal route. On the other hand a bit later in the day so a bit less traffic and really quite pleasant and relaxed, mostly as trying to achieve any speed on a boris bike is quite a bit more effort than one wants to invest if you are to turn up at the meeting not exhausted.

Thursday, boris biking

In London for work which means Boris Bike commuting to the meeting and the deployment of my extremely approximate grasp of London geography. This wasn't actually too bad so only really one stop, by chance outside a cycling cafe, to check where I was in relation to where I wanted to be. Sadly I forgot to Strava this so that's valuable miles unrecorded and unquantified.
