I’m not dead
@julius-london-abel-young wanted to see people doing this new alignment chart with their SR Bosses and I was more than happy to oblige. XD I included my non-Boss OCs as well since the more the merrier.
I saw @julius-london-abel-young do this with their Bosses and that inspired me to do it with my Bosses and OCs as well.
It is perhaps unsurprising that most of them are on the jock side of the spectrum given that this is Saints Row. Eli is very nerdy though, and Ruth as a writer and poet tends toward there as well. Most also lean toward the goth side, with Colin as the major outlier (no one is surprised). Lucrezia got a bit buried there beneath Meryl and Jack.

What animal/daemon would your bosses be/have based on all their personalities?
(I’ve not read or watched The Golden Compass series, but I have a cursory understanding of the daemons as a representation of someone’s character and personality, so I’ll vaguely go with that interpretation.)
I’ve talked before which animals I associate with my Bosses, and I think a secretary bird would still fit Meryl well. I associate Colin with foxes, but honestly personality-wise he’d be more some species of bird where the males look all super fancy and aggressively compete in being the most attractive. Something like... a peacock ;D (and I can hear a certain other peacock-Boss in the fandom booing at the idea xD).
Eli’s personality is hard to nail down in one animal. Something intelligent, reclusive and a little wary. It’s weird, when I was younger and was super into wildlife, I probably could have named a good animal right away, but now I’m stumped. I’ve associated him with manatees and porpoises though.
I don’t usually consider Jack among my Bosses that much, but she’d be a honey badger for sure.
Ruth would be a lioness or a leopard. A big cat would fit her dignified and deliberate ways. Either that or something like a large owl.
@supercutieandthesaints reblogged your photo:pierceaholic: triplehamburgerjack: ...
I like Jack’s face from what I can see. You got a picture of him from either one? Seems weird but I just….. Love...
Thanks! Jack is a female Boss though... specifically, her appearance and part of her personality is based on Jack from the Mass Effect series, to the point where I reblog any Mass Effect Jack edits on my blog under a ‘Boss:Jack’ tag. :D
I even modeled her SR2 outfits based on her clothes in ME2 and ME3
My Jack canonically dies near the end on SR2 at the Masako ambush in Club Koi, and Eli eventually takes over the Saints.
Johnny wasn’t actually the one to canonize Eli. He was among the last left to be canonized, and Jack decided that you know what, Carlos should be the one to do the honors. Fresh new lieutenant and all that.
Carlos took one glance at Eli, the pudgy, nervous and kind of scared-looking kid, and told Boss it wouldn’t be a problem. Eli was nudged into the ring, raising his arms ready to protect himself. Carlos decided to start out a little easy on the kid, feel him out first. They circled each other for a while, but every time Carlos tried to take a swing at him, Eli dodged or blocked it. Carlos kept waiting for a counterattack to arrive, but Eli stubbornly maintained a defensive huddle, even when Saints shouted encouragements.
Carlos couldn’t crack Eli’s defenses, and Eli wouldn’t hit back. As far as canonizations should have gone, it was ridiculous.
Soon enough Saints started jeering, especially at Carlos for appearing so inept at landing a few good solid hits on such an unassuming wannabe. Jack started getting impatient and annoyed as well, told both of them to stop holding back and just get on with it, especially Eli.
After a tackle, the two of them eventually ended up ineffectually tussling on the floor for a bit longer until Jack had had enough and motioned for Johnny to intervene. Gat stepped in, with one hand pulled Carlos off of Eli, with the other dragged Eli upright and landed a one-two punch that left Eli curled up on the floor again. Show’s over.
Carlos dusted himself off to a chorus of a few more ribbing jokes from the crowd. Jack smirked and told Carlos and Eli that with all of them being Saints, no hard feelings, right? Eli nodded, still winded and trying to get up, and Carlos uttered a flat “Sure thing, Boss.” But in reality Carlos would never fully forgive Eli for the humiliation of the stalemate fight, and especially for making him look weak in the Boss’ eyes.
Wow! Thanks for the overview. What do mean by NPC Boss?
Nothing concrete, kind of just the fact that I never really think of Jack as a point-of-view character. Like, she’s doing her own thing in SR2 as the Boss, but it’s all viewed through the lens of Eli’s experiences as one of her underlings. I haven’t thought too deep of Jack’s motivations or backstory or detailed personal relationships, so in a way she’s kind of like an NPC compared to Eli’s life as the PC/player character, if that makes sense?
