"My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue." - claudette
"I suppose that's... not incorrect," he says, looking away for a moment. That felt more like a segue into talking about feelings, or something a little more personal and deep. And Naveen... doesn't want to really do that. Talk about feelings. Because perhaps she is right, and his heart has been blue. He can't seem to find that love that he needed to, and nothing was working out for him quite how he wanted. And he had to think that it wasn't going to be Claudette who broke his curse, seeing as he spent way too much of his time lying to her between pretending to still have more money than he did and what he had going on with Gaston. But at the same time, he doesn't think it would break Claudette's heart if he admitted to her that the feelings they shared seemed to be little more than surface level. He can't imagine she'd hang around if she learned about his... situation. Perhaps they're both a little too shallow and self obsessed for it to be more than what it currently was. But she was fun and he did care for her. So he'd keep playing this game, even if it would come back to bite him someday. "But what are you suggesting we do about that? I've never been certain as to how you get a heart back--there's always a piece of it left behind." Naveen leans and kisses her head lightly. "I don't want you to feel like that's what I'm doing to you, my dear. I don't want you to think I'm just borrowing your heart. Because you deserve so much more than that."
