Right at the top of my bucket list next to thru hiking the AT and making it to Everest base camp you'll find "Be a Great Boss." I feel most days like conquering the AT and Everest might be easier pursuits. Being a business owner is far from a natural fit for me as my Myers Briggs results will indicate. For a shy, introvert who is a conflict avoider and poor communicator, leading a team, much less two, is probably not the best career trajectory. But life had another plan for me. Twelve years and two businesses later, being a "Boss" has become the greatest challenge and reward and joy of my life other than being a wife and mom. I get to spend my days around the most talented, kind, selfless, engaging, wonderful people. Not a day goes by that I'm not taught a life lesson, called on my BS or shown a new trick. I could have a string of PhDs behind my name but that would hold no candle to the education I've gotten working with this dynamic and amazing group of people. My EG team is my family and my Two Maids team has moved seamlessly into that fold. So, on Boss's Day it feels a little disingenuous for me to accept gifts or praise from this family. I'm the one in their debt. For all the lessons learned, the laughs and tears shared, the bread broken together, the late nights and early mornings slinging flowers and insults :), THANK YOU for being my gift! Life could have pointed me in the direction of other pursuits better suited to whatever strengths I possess but that path would not have made me strong. Knowing and working with each of you has. On Boss’s Day, thank you for making me feel like a total rockstar!
