diane is happy to finally catch a break. the femme shut down her bakery for the day, ready to allow herself to let loose. a smile spread across her features at the sight of teddy, glad she convinced him to come out. “ teddy ! ” she exclaims, arms wrapping around him to give him a hug. “ i think 2022 looks good on you, ” she jokes, goofy grin on her features as she straightens out the pair he wore. her eyes follow his nod, understanding without the need for any verbal response. following him there, she tries to focus on him instead of the large crowd around them. she hears the counting of the folks around her, but blocks it out. instead, she focuses on his voice. when he kisses her, diane’s hand caresses his jaw as she rings in the new year with her favorite person.

The young woman seemed perhaps only a little older than he had been when he met his untimely passing, and she had a friendly face. From what he had seen of her so far, she would likely have been someone he could have been friends with in life. He observed her from the corner of the room, not entirely keeping to the shadows given his lack of corporeal body to be seen, however when she suddenly became alert and spoke out, Alex froze. 

Surely she hadn’t heard him, had she? That would be ridiculous. No one could see him, it hadn’t happened once in the years since he became this. But there was something about the way she asked whether there was someone in the room that made him want to try to reach out to her. Some people were supposedly more in-tune with the spiritual, so maybe...

“Hello?” His voice was soft, cautious so as not to scare her too much if she could hear him. He stepped away from the wall, stance a little closed off and anxious. “Can- can you hear me? Can you see me?”

“ why are you up? “ he asked them. the cabin had been a good idea but as soon as he stepped in... he realized just how creepy it was. it really had that horror movie vibe and he didn’t like it. so he stayed up and tried not to freak out. ace sat down on the couch in the living room since it was slightly less scary then being alone in his own room.

reese was spending the summer with her best-friend and their family, at their beach house. she’d been having a lot of fun just hanging out with her best-friend, going on adventures, hanging out by the beach and she’d even tried surfing. her friends older sibling was there too, reese had been crushing on them for years, but she’d always been told they were strictly off limits, only making her want them more. 

she’d gotten up early and was making some food in the kitchen, when she heard something. she turns, “shit. i wasn’t being too loud, was i?” reeses cheeks flush pink, she’s embarrassed.
