Boston Opera Collaborative's FINAL performance of Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking. A New England premiere. At the Somerville Theatre (read: You can eat popcorn and drink beer while watching). If you get there at 6PM, there is a pre-show talk with Sister Helen Prejean. Click the link for the review in the Boston Globe.

Another Unobring List item checked off! Woo Hoo!
A lover of performance arts, I had never been to an opera. This is especially scandalous since I have a very talented friend, Margaret Felice, who is a professional singer!
Orpheus in the Underworld by the Boston Opera Collaborative is the performance I enjoyed this weekend. It was incredible! I later learned it is considered an Operetta; more of a musical style with intertwining spoken dialog and songs. Humorous with subtle (and not-so-subtle) innuendo and with a familiar plot (with a twist) that moves along at a good pace, there was no yawning or watch checking during this opera!
So, get out there and see an opera. You won’t be disappointed!
What opera have you seen?
For some reason Tumblr is not allowing me to scroll. So here are the links I wanted to share:
