Storytime
These are a few short takes on film for a show called “Storytime,” shot in Boston in late 1954. This reel is among those in our Sid Pike Collection.
[BTW, interesting camera code there on the left edge of the frame.]
The man may be B.A. Rolfe. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B._A._Rolfe. A script for “B.A. Rolfe’s Storytime” exists among Mr. Pike’s papers.
Dekko Film Productions had their offices on Dartmouth Street:
According to the label on the can, the story the kids were being told was “Peter and the Whiffle-hound.” This was a story about kids’ pedestrian safety put out in a booklet by the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. It had several iterations--booklet, slide and tape show, short film--that made the rounds of schools and other organizations.
I’m a big fan of the Kodachrome on this film.
