Botanic Sage: K.K. Good Day
YES, I TALK ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR MASH-UP ARTIST TOO MUCH. NO, I WILL NOT APOLOGIZE.
Seriously, listen to it. Isn't K.K. Slider a better sample than The Isley Brothers? It feels legitimately relaxing like something you can hear on a breezy day instead of just in the summer. I don't know, something just fits about it more than the original to me.
Song Score: 2016/10
Botanic Sage: Don't Touch The P5 Protag
One more for the road. Good lord, is this a good mash-up by the legend that is BS. Remember, this came out before the game did. Before we had any details on the protagonist in the picture, we were fervently instructed by Busta Rhymes to not touch him. To this day, whenever the opening plays, I do not hear "Wake up, get up, get out there!", I hear, "Don't touch my nigga, you might burn yourself". I refuse to get my ears checked.
Song Score: 915/10
Botanic Sage: Uptown Bowser
WE WILL NEVER STOP TALKING ABOUT THIS ARTIST. The Sage as I am legally allowed to call them had a huge online hit maybe around a decade ago with this mash-up of "Uptown Funk" and the Bowser Stage from Mario Kart 8. Damn, with how great that sample is, I think the Koopa King went into the wrong line of work.
Song Score: 1985/10
BotanicSage: Ratchet Ambiance
Woo, more BotanicSage!
From one of the more underrated mash-up artists (unless you're on this site on a Sunday) comes this ditty where Drake and Nicki Minaj team up to congratulate you to an underwater level track from Donkey Kong country. Does anyone deserve such accolades? Not really. But who cares? We all need a pat on the back every now and then.
Song Score: 20 μPa/10
Botanic Sage: Knick Knuck Hooray
From underrated mash-up artist Botanic Sage (again, that's the "Fingers In His Ass Sunday" guy) comes this incredible mix of Unknown From M.E. and Hip Hop Hooray. Probably some other stuff in there too but I'm too distracted by how much of a fucking banger this is. Seriously, it takes a mediocre tune from a fairly decent if outdated game and combines with a known classic to create a crossfaded 90s hip hop throwback. Go ahead, send the hate mail but I gotta say this: Neil Cicierega, eat your heart out.
Song Score: 1994/10
Botanic Sage: Pavirus
From the "Fingers In His Ass Sunday" guy comes this excellent mash-up of Virus from Deltron 3030 and Papyrus' "Bonetrussle" theme. When you're done meming the guy, can you check out his far better, far more entertaining music. kthanxttyl.
