The yellowing lights from that buzzing neon of the gas station cast eerie glows down upon their heads, that buzzing and the entirety of the crickets in their stilted, Autumnal chill the pair's only company in this lone, silent Night; naught e'en for the cars upon the highway droll past, excluding the lonely howl of far-'way coyotes in that flattened, dry ground.
Roland frowns at his space from across from this doleful spirit, the plastic of their bench sharp and jagged in its ancient days. His van is packed aftways, locked and safe, a Sentinel of a fantasy-painted Wall. "Hast thou e'er cautioned to sleep?" inquires he, as 'tis all too familiar that recognition of purpl'ng eyes, the melted expression and so of the waxful pallor of a soft, exhausted countenance. All too mirrored.
"It's t...t..tea." His voice was soft, the strong Welsh lilt punctuating the words as he pressed the mug - one of his thicker, sturdier ones, tactile and easy to grasp even for shaking hands - into Eden's. Then he took several steps back, allowing Eden distance between them as he took a seat on the couch opposite.
Giving him space to be and feel less cramped.
"It's okay. You don't uhm - you don't h...have to feel, uhm - safe. Not yet. It - it comes with, with, uhm, t...time." The gentle stutter carried across the room, tone still quiet and gentle as he sipped from his own cup.
"B..b..but the tea? It uhm, it helps." A warm thing to hold, a sense of comfort, but also so much more than that. Elwyn's magic had always infected everything he made, and tea was no exception. Unique blends for every visitor, flavours picked out based on their needs as much as their tastes. Lavender and chamomile for comfort, willow bark and rose hip for pain, ginger and liquorice for stomach aches. Every possible option was mixed and blended to create something perfectly individual for each visitor that came his way.
The question struck Alice hard, and for the first time in such a long while she had an incredible sense of being SEEN. Not viewed or witnessed, but understood in a way she so often didn’t.
Of course she got angry.
Sometimes it was so bad it overwhelmed her, filled her with unbridled rage she couldn’t fully control.
“Sometimes.” Her voice was soft, softer than it normally ever was, and she took a step forwards towards Eden, fighting the urge to turn invisible and run away from the conversation.
“I can’t control it. I just...I get so full of anger, and things start to BREAK.” Mirrors shattered on the walls, glasses seemed to spontaneously combust, windows exploding into thousands of tiny shards. If it was reflective, it posed a horrifying danger when her temper flared.
“It’s always over the littlest things, but I just...loose control.”

The sterile surroundings were a stark contrast to the disheveled state of the surgeon himself, who sat amidst a pile of medical books, the soft glow of a reading lamp casting shadows across his weary face. He hadn't slept in what felt like an eternity, his eyes heavy with fatigue. fingers traced the words on the pages, absorbing the knowledge within the tomes of medical wisdom. Despite his best efforts to find solace in the pages of his beloved medical texts, sleep continued to elude him. The hours stretched into eternity as he delved deeper into the intricacies of human anatomy and the complexities of surgical procedures. But even the most engrossing of subjects couldn't ward off the relentless pull of fatigue. The weight of sleep deprivation pressed on him, yet his determination to unravel the mysteries of the human body held him captive to the words before him.
As the night wore on, Law succumbed to the relentless grasp of exhaustion. His body, finally succumbing to the fatigue, slumped against the chair. The rhythmic sound of his breathing hinted at the onset of sleep, but just as the tendrils of unconsciousness began to wrap around him, he startled awake. A sudden jolt shook his body, as if he had been abruptly thrust into freefall. He grunted in irritation, his hand instinctively reaching for the katana at his side, only to find it missing. His heart raced as he scanned the room, searching for any sign of danger. Yet, to his confusion, there was none.

But as he blinked away the grogginess, his gaze fell upon something in his peripheral. his brow furrowed as he squinted at the figure before him—the detail unclear but he could make out, slightly curled hair. Law's mind, clouded by fatigue, struggled to discern whether this apparition was a figment of his imagination or a manifestation of something more profound. He blinked, pinching the bridge of his nose, half-expecting the illusion to dissipate.
