ohgoshohgosh. I wants it. Is this like Risk legacy with the progressive alterations as you play the game?

It absolutely is.  It progresses over a series of twelve months, and as you move through the year the game changes and gets more complex.  There’s a lot of content hidden in the box - bits you only open after a certain month has passed, or things you only open if you win or lose, stickers that add rules or remove cards or change goals.  

I guess the only problem is that once you finish the season, that’s it - you’ve altered all the pieces to the point that you can’t do it again.  Still, it’s very cool and I can’t wait to start failing at saving the world.

Man, none of them, really. Ishalle is starting to learn puns, much to Dorian’s consternation. But he’s not very good at them yet. Kuutlu prefers a good fart joke and Neria lost her sense of humor right around the time some asshole stuck an anchor on her hand. (you could accuse Neria of being too uptight. You’d be correct.) Ishalle has Ferelden as his second language and while he has a decent vocabulary, he hasn’t quite mastered the art of wordplay.

Tell me a weird story, please?

OK. One time I had a customer come in, a woman and her 10 year old son. “I want to order a birthday cake. Son, tell the lady what you want.”

He tells me he wants a fruit loop cake. No problem. “No,” he says. “I want a vanilla cake and frosting with fruit loops on the inside and outside.” 

Cool. No problem, really. I make him a pretty fucking cute cake. I even separate the colors and make rows of colors on the outside, and then I do spokes on the top and a fucking little maypole on the top with loops and ribbons. So fun. Perfect for a kid. 

They pick it up, coo and make noise, pay for it and leave. I go on my weekend. I come back. 

Chris is there, looking sad. He’s the one who rang the order up. “Why are you sad Chris?”

He looks me in the eye and winces. “They returned the cake.”

“What.”

“They said it was too sweet. She said she knew it was going to be, but wanted to call her son’s bluff, teach him a lesson.”

That fucking cake was awesome, man. And don’t use your kid’s birthday to Teach A Lesson.

um when I was in 1st or 2nd year in secondary school I won this contest the library ran where you had to write a valentine’s day themed poem. it wasn’t great but it did explore the difference between love and lust and tbh that’s pretty deep for a 12 year old
