You totally deserve the Doctor♡Rose shipper of the month position ;-) So I wanted to know 1) A pairing you just can't bear to see in the DW fandom? 2) One thing you consider Doctor/Rose does better than any other ship? 3) Who was your first Doctor, is he your favorite and why? Hello! Thank you so much for the compliment and the questions! I’m really happy to be shipper of the month! It’s very exciting! ♡

1) Ah! I suppose it’s no surprise to say any Nine/Ten/Tentoo pairing that doesn’t include Rose. There are a lot of ships in DW that I respect, mostly from Classic Who, but since this blog is dedicated to the RTD years I’ll stick to that.

I can see the Doctor moving on from Rose after the RTD era, but I find it hard to believe that the Doctor as Nine, Ten, or Tentoo would fall in love with anyone else or be with anyone else, besides Rose. And I feel that any character that people say Ten might have loved, let’s say, in matter of hours, in that one episode, I don’t consider canon nor in character nor actual love. Romantic love I feel doesn’t blossom in hours or days but only after many, many months, which he had with Rose.

2) Oh, man, that’s a toughie! In terms of DW ships, I think it’s the only televised romance that really captures the subtleness and gentleness of the “true love” and “soulmates” troupe, even though I don’t believe in those things in general or look for them in love stories. The only ship that I think can contend with Doctor Rose in DW is Charley/Eight (from the audio books) and Doctor/Master. But even then, I think Doctor/Rose was the ultimate DW ship.

As for stacking it against other fandoms, I’d say again, they have this subtleness that is also obvious (which I know goes against the subtle bit) but gentle. I knew the Doctor loved Rose. The yearning he felt for her after he’d lost her was also heavily felt. I suppose they do the star-crossed lover bit pretty well too.

3) Nine was my first Doctor. I hate starting something in the middle and I thought the reboot was more so separate from the Classic era at first (which I know better now). So when I went to netflix to begin my watch I went right to series 1 and the episode Rose.

Is Nine my favorite? Most of the time, yes! But then I have a strong love for Tentoo. Ultimately since Tentoo, at least to me, is supposed to be a mix of Nine and Ten, I would say that Tentoo is my favorite. With Nine, since I think there is something special about your first Doctor, he will always be a very special, very important Doctor to me. And I think he was one of the best Doctors as well as one of the more underrated. When I go to buy Doctor Who merchandise, I usually go for Nine products first (well, after the Rose products really, when I can find them) then Ten. Though I wish there were more Tentoo stuff available!
