Bouncy Bones
“Cute carrot crunchers considering companions!”
Bitty Type: Bouncy Bone (Bouncy Bones)
AU + Character: Varied AUs
Personality: Another bitty type that have varying personalities!
Likes: Sleeping, their own space, toys, running.
Dislikes: Pessimists, dogs or dog-like bitties, loud sounds.
Compatibility: These bitties work well with those who are more energetic! These guys are fast-paced and enjoy doing work and small chores. They’ll help you clean your room, help with ideas, and even help cook! They can’t promise they’ll be the best at it, but they’ll try! They’re also very optimistic, tending to see the silver lining in things. As such they don’t really like those who always see the dark side of things. They tend to say it annoys them.
Feeding Habits: Like Marrowtaurs, these guys are vegans! They eat only vegetables, and their favorites vary! It is recommended to add vitamins and calcium into their food to help with their bones and magic, as they can be fairly fragile like regular rabbits!
Extra Factoids:
- These guys also vary in design, some can have large dewlaps, some can be lean!
- They’re very strong jumpers! One recorded Bouncy Bone could jump up to four feet!
Bouncy Bones
Because DeForest Kelley (Bones) had a habit of bouncing.
Jim Kirk screamed out in laughter as Leonard McCoy attacked his hips.
“Do you give?” Bones said.
“NOHOHOHOHO!!” Bones chuckled at his Captain’s response. Currently, he had Jim pinned to the floor of the Sickbay and had been tickling him for the past seven minutes. Bones removed one hand from his hips and gently vibrated his hand on Jim’s belly.
“I GIHIHIVE!! I GIHIHIHIHIVE!!” Bones immediately withdrew his hands. And stood up smugly and smirked. Then he did something that Kirk had never noticed him do before. He bounced. He went up on his tip toes and came back down. Yeah, Kirk thought. A bounce.
Come to think of it, Bones did it quite often. He was always bouncing about something. During physicals, during missions, when he was yelling at Spock... How had Jim never noticed before?
“Jim?” Bones asked. Suddenly, Jim realized he had been staring at the doctor for about thirty seconds. Awkward.
“I’m fine, Bones,” Jim said and stood. “Just thinking.”
“About?”
“I was wondering why you always bounce.” McCoy looked at him.
“I don’t.”
“Yes you do. You just did it while you smirked at me.”
it's a lil treasure when authors of star trek novels remember McCoy's lil habit of bouncing on his toes 🥰
May I please ha e a Bouncy Bones? They are so cute!!
Finding the center was easy enough, the glittering sign and slightly lavender-tinted windows made it obvious where it was. Along with you having been coming by for the longest time, hoping for a sweet Bouncy Bones advertised! Though apparently, the center had been closed down for changes, and after a month or so, it was finally open again! You giddily entered, glancing around for someone to show you where the sweet little bunnies were! ..where was everyone? Of course, you were in the center, standing awkwardly in front of the front desk, fidgeting with your hands. What now? Should you sit down? Luckily your unsaid questions were answered by faint hissing and a serpent-like body arriving from behind an Employee's Only door. A quite large bitty, most likely a fullsized, with heart-shaped pupils in his orbits and a long, iridescent, and sparkling tail. A Sunlust! What a sight!
He rose up to set his elbows on the front desk, a flirty gaze looking you up and down with a smirk.
"Well hello! What bringssss you to Little Palaccce?" He hissed, the emotion behind his eyes changing from the common lustfulness a.. well, Lust bitty had, to curiosity, the tip of his tail swaying from side to side. You explained you've been looking at the Bouncy Bones from even before the center closed down, and he nodded, getting off the desk to come to your side.
"I sssee, well, Beez isss busssy with the new arrivalss, ssso I can show you where the Bouncccy Bounesss are." He offered, slithering and leading you to a room not dissimilar to when you came to adopt your Marrowtaur, Sprinkles, opening the gate to let you walk in. He left you be to interact with the bunny-like bitties while he left to find Beez to help with the paperwork part.
You looked around, seeing some Bouncy Bones working on cleaning the room, some playing a game of tag, others talking amongst eachother. All eyes were on you as you walked in, and a few moments of silence had sunk in the awkwardness of the situation. Neither side knew what to do. That was, until..
"HEY!"
Jumping and looking to the side, it seemed that two Bouncy Bones, one red and one a lighter blue than most with faint lighter patches fighting over something. Before you could step in, a loud, thready ripping noise sounded from the two's scuffle, and both had begun blaming each other for breaking whatever it was.
Suddenly, a few Bouncy Bones stepped in, along with a different bitty, looking more feline-like. Was that a Sphyinx?
You had no time to dwell on it, as a few Bouncy Bones distracted you with a game of hide-and-seek, the distraction gladly appreciated.
The game lasted around ten minutes before a few of the bitties you played with stopped the game, taking you to what looked like a cat tower but smaller, maybe designed for bitties? They instructed you to sit, which you did, folding your legs underneath you. It didn't take long for whatever was in store for your to come out, which was the bitties from earlier!
The red-colored one refused to look at you in your eyes, stamping his little leg on the ground once they had both come to where you sat. The blue one with the patches also looked guilty, but not as badly as the red one. Both had their hands behind their back, slowly revealing what they hid. A bandanna, apparently the one they had ripped fighting over earlier. Sloppily sewn together, they both presented it to you as a gift.
"We wanted to gift this to you!"
"..but we fought over it."
"And ripped it.."
"Ramses made us apologize to each other and work together to fix it.." (Was Ramses the name of that Sphyinx from earlier?)
"We'll both understand if you wanna take only one of us!"
The two gave their explanation, the blue one smiling with hope while the red one continued to stare at the floor, ears flopped to the sides, clearly upset. Your heart gave a sympathetic twinge, and you leaned forward to pet both of them on their skulls, giving them a smile.
"I'd love to adopt you both."
Bouncy Bones!!
I took way too many pictures, and now you get to see ALL of them! Hooray! Happy post-Halloween!
Bouncy Bones started out as a drawing from a couple years ago, which was an experiment to try and use non-standard Halloween colors (orange/black) to make a distinctly Halloween themed pony. I took sort of the Halloween ‘adjacents’ of purple and yellow, and threw in teal to add a nice pop! My concept art, however, seemed more suited for a G4.5 body, with their dynamic and striking poses, but A) I couldn’t find one in time and B) I didn’t want to do a FBR! So I figured, this is Bouncy Bones as a G1 - a slightly stockier pose, but with fun TAF style symbols and glitter! I wanted to finish her in time for Halloween, but somehow I still ended up painting her at 3am the night before!
