Day 2 - inspiration
Hi friends!
So I thought I could do a little post with some of the things that have inspired me to write a fic in the past. I don’t know how original I’m gonna be, maybe you guys all know this already, but here goes. :)
Boys of Summer:
Ahh yes. Giggly!Isak. This exact gif made me think “What if this is how Even saw Isak for the first time?” and then in a matter of seconds I went from THAT to “What if Isak grinded against Even in a car?” So there you have it, my mind just does these things apparently. ;)
Bound Two:
Most of Rearranged is very much inspired by Kanye West’s “Yeezus” album, as I heard it on repeat for most of the period I was writing Rearranged. The inspiration for Bound Two is from that album as well, from the song “Bound 2″ (surprisingly), and more specifically, these lines:
know I got a bad reputation Walking 'round, always mad reputation Leave a pretty girl sad reputation
I had heard that song many times at this point, but that day those lines just sparked something in me, and the idea for sad fuckboy!Isak was born.
Never be the same:
And to end this, a more recent one. The inspiration for this came from an unexpected place, namely my own summary for “Let Me”, which was:
It started with a bet - as these things tend to do.
It’s been 22 days.
And Even is dying.
A little while after writing this I stumbled over this summary again and I just thought, “Huh. What if it was a different kind of bet? A NO-SEX-BET!!!” And then the fic just almost wrote itself after that. :)
So this was three different ways for me to get inspired. I generally get my inspiration in a lot of places, but especially music (and especially lyrics) has a way of inspiring me. I think you can trace most of my fics back to a song in some way. :)
So this was fun to do! I hope it was fun for you to read as well. xD
