ILYAΒ ROZANOVΒ WEEK:Β DAYΒ FOUR FAVORITE TRAITΒ Β βͺ HIS EMPATHY AND KINDESS π₯Ίπ
βWhen our childhood homes are chaotic and dangerous, we learn that the way to stay safe is to always be on alert β hypervigilant. Our nervous system never calms down because itβs constantly on the lookout for the next bomb that is going to explode [...] As the show goes on, we will learn that underneath Ilyaβs extremely hard shell is the heart of a squishy teddy bear wrapped in a warm blanket, but it takes YEARS for Shane to see it. When we look at Ilya through the lens of what he learned as he grew up, it makes sense why he behaves the way he does. We can even have empathy for the level of hypervigilance and fear he lives with. I like to lay things out this way because itβs usually a hell of a lot harder to give ourselves that same grace. We have an idea of who we βshouldβ be in our heads, and when we donβt live up to that we assume itβs because weβre a failure, a useless waste of space. None of that is true: we are behaving in ways that make complete sense when we understand how our nervous system was trained to respond to our environment.β β Reading Ilya Rozanov through the lens of trauma.

ILYAΒ ROZANOVΒ WEEK:Β DAYΒ THREE FAVORITE QUOTE(S)Β βͺ βUh, no. Never in life have I blushed. Russians do not do this.β β honestly, almost all of his quotes bc ilya is a comedian (and a menace) ππ₯°π€
this tiktok screenshot ruined my life i need to see the serbian pigeon movie so so badly but it doesn't exist it's so foul to make this bad of a point with something so cool and then take it away from me.
Tiktok marvel fans really will be out here like "movie fan SHOCKED because i'd rather watch superhero movie #54 in blue and not a sensual 1987 french horror film about a man discovering his wife may not exist set in what is gradually revealed to be a space station" as if you're supposed to agree that superhero movie #54 is the clear winner in this comparison
Love the idea of a story about a complex issue that's told from the perspective of something that cannot comprehend or care about the issue. The way the story would be sliced up and moments that a human would consider pointless would be focused on because the pigeon happened to be there would be hype as fuck
Ok FINE I made the movie poster of it
MaliΕ‘a, otherwise known as Little One, is a pet pigeon owned by a conservative butler of the Austro-Hungarian aristocracy. She is loved, and she is pamperedβ until her owner is murdered in cold blood, and she is left to fend for herself in Sarajevo.
In the wilds of the city, she feeds from the poor, working nationalist radicals, and the vieux riches alike.
To MaliΕ‘a, there are no ethical concerns. No politics. No burgeoning nationalism.
There are only hands that feed her, and hands that do not.
This is compelling. Consider me fucking compelled.
Final shot is the bird hearing, but not seeing, the sound of a .32 ACP pistol, and flying away in shock
"From the studio that brought you Goncharov...."
yeah okay ill reblog that
