I used the paper piecing pattern exactly, I bought the fabric (Boundless fabric from @craftsy_ ), and I even followed the pattern for free motion quilting. Normally, IF I follow a pattern, I change something...either the fabric, or parts of the block or block arrangement, so my challenge on this project was to "follow the rules" from start to finish ( which is very against my nature). It caused me to squirm and rage and go through a host of emotions, but there was something freeing about having a set plan and just following through.
