I don't know about you, but our morning hustle is a little nutty around here. To keep things running as smoothly as possible, one of my Back to School Morning Hacks is all about giving them choices (that I'm happy with too). For example, do you want to get dressed or eat breakfast first? (Lucas usually chooses getting dressed first and Theo always eats in his jammies). Brush your teeth or put sunscreen on? There are really only 5 things they have to do before we head out the door and if I give them a choice of the order they're completed in, they're more likely to quickly choose and get it done. Enjoying the sunshine at what has basically become our second home with these hot summer day’s we’re sweating through! Can I tell you something? The best part about being a mom? Something that can fill an entire day with so much happiness, even with all the crazy temper tantrums and second-guessing? Watching your normally super clingy toddler leap and jump and giggle through the water with the biggest smile on his face, and the sweetest giggles echoing over the wet concrete. It may be the extra hormones, but more than a few fat, happy tears rolled down my cheek the other day while watching him romp around. It’s incredible that we grow these little beings inside of us, keeping them safe and a part of us for almost 10 months, and then welcome them into the world to grow on their own. We watch them learn to roll and crawl and stand and walk, and turn into *real* humans, with their own personalities and likes and dislikes. They go from babbling to forming full sentences, and from uncontrollably swatting their limbs to throwing their arms around your neck in an act of love. - I’m partnering with @buttpastebaby to share this carefree, happy moment with my favorite tiny tornado, who they have kept rash free. I can't believe summer camp is almost over and I have to start thinking about going back to school already. Do you have any School Lunch Survival tips? One of mine is to give Lucas a choice (that I'm happy with) for his main meal--do you want grilled cheese or a quesadilla? A sandwich or noodles?
