JASON BOURNE : The Man Who Should Not Comeback
here for pic
Jason Bourne was a train assassin for CIA who lost his memory after an unfortunate accident in his last mission. Since then, he’s been haunted by visions and people from his past. He desperately sought his true identity, ran and travelled from place to place to find out who he was, killed anyone who wanted to make him disappear. He’s been in a long quest and escaping. He ever stopped once when he and his girlfriend lived in India, hiding. But when his girlfriend got killed, he made out his mind to avenge anyone involved in the killing. He believed it linked to his past. He then managed to find out about Blackbriar, the black ops under Treadstone which at last earned him the truth behind his past.
He has been disappeared since then, but spotted out ten years after in Greek-Albanian border. He’s about fistfighting. Apparently, it’s his new profession. He seems to want to lead a new life but he just can’t stop seeing things. The past keeps haunting him. What’s the mystery behind it all? Does he simply just can’t forgive his past yet or there’s something more that he should know? Nicky Parson, his comrade ten years ago brings him the answer. She went all the way to Greek just to make him run again. Then she got shot and died. Bourne needs to run further and face his past one more time.
What I like about Bourne movie is its story which depth and intriguing. To me it seems a smart action movie consist of conspiracy, deception, with a man who strives to follow his self conscience by destroying those immoralities. It’s not only about car crashing, gun shooting, killing, running, staking out. The character is well developed. It draws viewers’ empathy and emotion. For past years, his journey has become my personal journey. I’d like to know what will happen to him. Every his moves are important. He must find the truth and I support him for it. Thus, at the end of the third movie I felt happy because he finally solved the case and ended his long quest.
Thanks for the fourth movie I got a chance to reunite with one of my favorite character. But not as some cliché Hollywood action flick. Of course, I will never doubt Paul Greengrass’ highly competent in directing a high level of action and creating such bombastic tension. But this fourth of Bournology is just like a humiliation to the other three movies. The story is a failure. The motive is not there, the character is not developed enough. They seem to just put everything in the movie to force Jason Bourne comeback.
Watching Jason Bourne made me realize that it was a great mistake to bring Bourne back. He’d better fistfighting in Greek-Albanian border, let go of his past, and continue his life.
