Cercles, An IPad App By Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, two french designers, just released an iPad app called Cercles that presents more than 200 images, drawings, original sketches and models. This application is published at the occasion of the first major retrospective in France dedicated to their work, at Centre Pompidou-Metz.

There's two things that I really like about this application. First of all the content which is noticeably rich and underlines the importance of drawing, experimenting and building models in the process of thinking and designing products. It's really amazing how some of their drawings or models capture the idea and really define the essence of the future final product.

Then the UI and navigation are discreet, smart and really let you enjoy the content. The use of an infinite canvas where you reveal images in the "browse" section is somehow similar to Prezi and really fits the app.

The app is stimulating discoveries and seeks to immerse the viewer into the working universe of Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec.
