So, I think that Rayla should keep the Bowblade. She's seems very much capable of forging the Bowblade onto a path with newfound purpose and using it for something even better. Like breaking the cycles of bloodshed and violence that's tainted it. Rayla could do it. What do you say?

That weapon was forged for one purpose: to let me kill as efficiently as possible. I have a lifetime's worth of blood on my hands, much of it shed with that bowblade. I would not wish such a fate for Rayla.

They say the humans can change their fate. I don't know if that applies to elves or not, but... I have never heard of it applying to a weapon.

I suppose if anyone can change my bowblade's fate, it is Rayla. But... I am not comfortable with her trying. If she fails, she might end up like me.

That has historically not gone well.

BOWBLADE...

I love love LOVE to think Ludwig had absolute respect for Simon, because Simon isn't afraid to be himself and unique. Simon never realized this, because he always looked up to Ludwig himself and didn't think the respect went both ways.

But you know..,. When Ludwig told Simon that he has a deep admiration for him.,.,. Simon finally realized that he had a chance all along 😭

Astera (Ludwig's horse) immediately trusted Simon from the start. That's Ludwig's litmus test for if someone is a good person or not, even though he always starts out with good faith in someone.

Simon knows about how shitty the Church is and sees how Ludwig puts blind faith in them. He doesn't say anything. He wants to get Ludwig out of there so so bad but he doesn't want to break his heart. Ludwig does know about the corruption, but he turns a blind eye to it and lies to himself about it. His main interest is protecting the people of Yharnam, in other words, cleaning up the mess Laurence leaves behind.

Simon likes to keep an eye on Ludwig during the hunt- even though Ludwig is perfectly capable of protecting himself, Simon will snipe any beast creeping up on him.

Likewise, Ludwig is worried that Simon will snap in half like a glow stick (he will) in a fight and will hover around him if they're together.

Secret meetings under the cover of night... Under the moonlight... Tender gestures of affection..,.,.

In a city full of xenophobes, Ludwig is an oddity for being so open and accepting of others. Simon, being an obvious 5 shades darker than everyone else, had few friends. Ludwig was one of those friends. Simon has genuinely never felt safer with anyone else. Ludwig is also a naturally protective person with a mellow exterior. Simon finds that..,., Adorable...,..,.,.,

Because of Ludwig's openness, Simon is more than willing to share aspects of his culture with him. Invite Ludwig for Rosh Hashanah! Bring some hummus and pita to the midnight picnic! And Ludwig shares as well, although it's more of a, "Let's drink a shit ton of beer because I'm German!" Alkdjfkskajdn Ludwig is more excited to tell Simon about the new Mane and Tail shampoo and why he should also use it... On himself.

On a side note Ludwig is in awe that Simon can fast, speaking as a man who drinks gallons of water a day and is half the Healing Church's food budget.

Also Ludwig learned a bit of Hebrew out of respect for Simon. Ooihhdhdjdkek

Also Ludwig likes carrying his significant others and you can imagine how flustered Simon got when Ludwig picked him up like he weighed nothing. Tbf Simon weighs nothing but you know dhdksksk

Ok post Nightmare specifically, Simon would still accept Ludwig for the giant horse beast he is now, but Simon finds it a little bit weird that he's also fused with his horse. Just a little.

What’s your thoughts on bowblade perhaps?

i think them being an item is very fun! their core dynamic of ludwig being with the healing church since its beginning + being such a central figure as the holy blade, meanwhile simon is trying to dig up its worst secrets works well with or without the romance, but i think it adds a bit of an extra kick for any romantic letter or time they sneaked off to be alone together to be tinged w that baggage as time went on

when I started shipping it if I did: Probably when I started seeing your posts!!! I gave it some though and it really clicked with me!!

my thoughts: They are... so sad.... also a brilliant sitcom set up. Guy who is devoted to a cult is dating a guy who is looking into why that cult is awful. It's wonderful. They compromise for each other they way they wouldn't for anyone else.

What makes me happy about them: The fact that theyre, relitively, pretty healthy in comparison to most other Bloodborne ships lmao

What makes me sad about them: ooo the fact Ludwig has to step out and do things he would never otherwise do, like emotionally manipulate his partner, in order to protect the Church.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: That there isn't any..........

things I look for in fanfic: Exploring the weird emotional dynamic they have going on!!! I think theres a lot you can do with Simon putting Luddy down in the nightmare too.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:  Ludwig probably Lozza and/or Gehrman yeh. For Simon I think Brador works in a fucked up kinda way.

My happily ever after for them: Them moving away from Yharnam, Simon successfully de-radicalising Ludwig, and them buying a farm together. I think they deserve it.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: Luddy is the little spoon despite his size. Big guy just likes to be held.

what is their favorite activity: They like baking together!!! I think it's mostly Luddy's hoby but Simon loves to participate cus it makes him happy :)
