Today marks the start of a new treatment for my #UlcerativeColitis. Throughout last year, the #NHS tried a huge variety of different medications with varying degrees of temporary success. In 2015 alone, I took 6'351 tablets to try and stabilise my condition. But after eight months of steroid treatments and being hospitalised twice, I will now be starting #infliximab infusions which will hopefully keep me in remission for the long term and eliminate the need to have any surgery. Last year was very tough for me, and basically I just wanted to say thank you to my friends and family and everyone who has been supportive through 2015 and since my diagnosis. Cheers to anyone who visited me in hospital, kept me laughing when it all stopped being funny and didn't verbally wish death upon me, thank you. Thank you also to the amazing staff at the RVI who do a sterling job of keeping me alive when my immune system is doing just about everything it can to do the opposite. Also a special mention to my #bowelbuddy @assilemhair for constantly supporting me through everything. Though we both spend so much time missing out on life, hidden indoors in pain, at least we get to hide together. #IBD
