A fairly mediocre-resolution camera comes alive; a dull, flat shot of a collapsed caldera; one side of the bowl long having been eroded by time and the rigors of time. The interior meanwhile is largely grass, with the only intrusion being a very At the far left side of the bowl; a violet and white mech stands on a somewhat well kept runway, undergoing what appear to be final checks for a scheduled flight.
///USER: NHP-NOAH-Burnice HAS ESTABLISHED CONNECTION ///:NHP-N-Burnice: All Safety Checks are complete. The wind is blowing out of the valley at approximately .3 knots. The airspace is yours. ///USER: Longshot-X HAS ESTABLISHED CONNECTION ///Longshot-X: Crosswind, huh? Don't think my record's in any danger with that. ///:NHP-N-Burnice: The forces you will be placing upon both your mech and yourself under upon takeoff will more than likely counteract any bearing the wind has, Longshot. Your flight will be unimpeded. ///: Longshot-X: Can you at least give me a chance of tailwind? I really want this one to be the one. ///:NHP-N-Burnice: I will remind you that this is a tremendous waste of company resources- ///: Longshot-X: Can you at least give me a chance of tailwind? I really want this one to be the one. ///:NHP-N-Burnice: Oh fine. Give me a second.
The mech in frame takes a ready stance, the sight of thruster exhaust blowing the long grass back flat is noticeable behind it. The trademark whine of a jet turbine beginning to be audible.
///:NHP-N-Burnice: The wind will have a 93% chance of shifting behind the VIOLET COMET in 35 seconds. I will set a timer. ///:Longshot-X: Got it. Thanks Burnie. ///:NHP-N-Burnice: Good luck!
The thruster exhaust is now visible as a near directed flame; smaller thrusters begin to spin up; the notable whine beginning to become higher and higher; a vast amount of the grasses and reeds behind the mech are nearly flattened by the sheer force being put out. It takes a half step, as if trying to contain the energy urging it forward.
///:NHP-N-Burnice: Your tailwind has come. ///:NHP-N-Burnice: You are cleared for takeoff.
The Mech takes only a step before blasting forward; the flicker of thin indigo lights on it's midsection seemingly the pilot light for an explosion of purple fire propelling it forward like a rocket. the camera completely losing it's subject as the fireball chases it's creator into the heavens; creating a steady curve that carries past the runway and out of the caldera.
///:NHP-N-Burnice: Longshot away. Time calculated on takeoff is 4.262352 seconds. You are over a second and a half over your sortie record. My sincerest apologies, Longshot. ///:Longshot-X: Aaaah, dammit. ///:Longshot-X: Oh well. May as well do sensors checks while I'm up here. ///:NHP-N-Burnice: Very well. Please check in when you are on your initial landing.
///:Longshot-X: Thanks. You know who's in charge while I'm up here. ///:NHP-N-Burnice: Of course. We will try again next time. Ground Fire Suppressants released. Damage to local flora localized and minimal.
