I’ve been in a very big drawing moon these last couple of days. here’s some cyberpunk inspired vehicles. a big box delivery van. and some small cars.
So we got a boxvan, me and my dad gonna revamp it and get it working again (hopefully)
So I'mma make a list on here of the shit that we're (mainly me) gonna do to it 😼
• tear out the plastic flooring and put in carpet,
• either lights or fabric flowers on the ceiling
• get rid of the wasp nest in the gas tank
• new transmission
• new tires, all four of them 🥴
• left side mirror (heavily cracked)
• drivers seat (probably just gonna replace it with the passenger seat and have one seat up front)
• reinstall the shelves because those were pretty funking cool

Frequently Asked Questions about trailers
For a lot of people, using a box trailer or box van is a one-time thing. Whether you need to use one to move a bit of furniture, take some rubbish to the tip, or even transport an animal, you will likely have a lot of questions about using it. Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about enclosed car trailers!
What kind of licence do I need to tow a trailer?
You cannot tow any box trailer with a provisional licence, you must have a full driving licence.
If you passed the test before 1st of January 1997, you should have entitlement B+E c1+E on your licence. This means that you can drive vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of up to 7,500 kilograms, and tow any trailer, as long as the combined GVWR of the vehicle and box trailer don’t exceed 8,250 kilograms.
If you passed your test after that date, you are eligible to drive a vehicle with a GVWR of up to 3,500 kilograms, with less than 8 seats. You can tow any box trailer with a GVWR up to 750 kilograms, provided that the towing vehicle’s GVWR is two times that of the box trailer, and the combined GWVR is below 3,500 kilograms.
How can I find out my vehicle’s towing capacity?
It’s important to find out your vehicle’s maximum towing capacity before you start towing your box trailer. If you try and tow something that is heavier than your vehicle’s towing capacity, then your control will be diminished, which could lead to accidents, and you could also cause damage to both your car and trailer.
To find this important figure out, you can either look in your vehicle handbook, or by locating your Vehicle Identification Number plate. This is normally found under the body. This should either give you the towing limit straight away, or it might give you the GVWR and the vehicle’s ‘Gross Train Weight’. The Gross Train Weight is a combination of the vehicle’s GVWR, and its towing capacity, so simply subtract the GVWR from the GTR to get the maximum towing capacity.
What is the maximum length and width of a trailer I can tow with a car licence?
Enclosed vehicle trailers can be quite cumbersome when towed, so the trailer and towing vehicle must be under certain limits. The maximum trailer length you can tow with a car is 7 metres long. The maximum width is 2.55 metres. This will allow for safer road travel.
What should I do if I start to snake?
Snaking with enclosed vehicle trailers is anyone who tows vehicles’ worst nightmare, as it can lead to dangerous jack-knifes. The easiest way to avoid this possibility is to use a box van for transport instead, as they are a solid vehicle with no connection. If you cannot source or hire a box van, and your combination starts to snake, you need to ease off the accelerator and let the speed reduce. If you accelerate, the snaking will likely worsen, and braking can lead to jack-knifing, so you need to ensure your speed drops gently to avoid accidents.
How to know when your hauling load is safe
It can unfortunately be a common occurrence witnessing cars try and tow massive haul loads, which are unsafe. Seeing this on the road can be very unnerving, causing drivers to keep their distance or quickly overtake, and in worst case scenarios be involved in a crash. Obviously, you don’t want to add to this statistic when towing your enclosed vehicle trailer. So, this means you need to know how to identify a safe car to box van trailer weight combination. To help with your understanding of this, the following article should help.
Often, the most common mistake with such a scenario is mistaking the box van towing ratings. Towing ratings are one thing to consider, but there are still many other factors to keep in mind before deciding the set-up is safe to tow. No matter what load you are carrying on your enclosed vehicle trailer, the laws still apply. Regardless of load contents, such rules are outlined based on towing weights, license and the capacity of the car used to tow. Along with this, there are other technical areas you need to fulfil such as installing box van trailer lighting and brakes.
As well as the above, you also must make sure your driving ability is up to standard. Most can deal with a small box van carrying gardening equipment, but perhaps not one carrying another car. Instead, this needs more knowledge, planning and experience to successfully tow.
The legal license requirements for towing a box van includes obviously possessing a full driver’s license. If you obtained this prior to 1997 you will find more flexibility with what you can tow, which is a maximum of 8.25 tonnes of weight for the car and enclosed vehicle trailer together. On the contrary, those who got their driver’s license after 1997 will find their opportunities more limited; with a combined maximum weight of 3.5 tonnes for the car and trailer together.
Having covered license requirements for legally and safely towing a box van trailer, it’s time you understand the limitations of some equipment. Thankfully, what makes this process much easier is the owner’s handbook, which will cover what towing capacities and numbers are right for your model. Remember the weights can vary depending on gearbox and engine combinations.
In addition to the above, it’s useful to know what your trailer can handle, along with your car’s towing capacity. Furthermore, this will provide understanding for what limitations can occur with your trailer and the law. Collating all this information will help with staying in line with law requirements for driving on the road.
The regulations for legally towing a trailer or caravan involve its width and length, mirrors, tow bars, brakes, lighting and number plates. So, it’s vital to familiarise yourself with these numbers to avoid trouble with the law. Along with this, if you find yourself worried about not being able to handle the driving experience when towing a trailer, there are lessons available to ensure your skills are at a safe standard. The lessons help with your manoeuvring skills and knowledge of loading a trailer and attaching it to a car safely.
