There's a huff at that, clearly not taking the remark all too serious. He doesn't need stupid reassurances - they don't know the first thing about him. Fighting, and more importantly winning, is all he's meant for. It's why he was brought into existence, and so long as he keeps doing that, he'll... he'll have to find some new purpose. The X-blade may be further from his grasp than ever before, but that doesn't mean he can just give up - it's the only purpose he'd been given. Even without it, he'll only find closure in his continued strength.
