Aaron sits in silence for a moment, eyes fixed on the table instead of looking at his brother. It’s sort of a wonder there aren’t a ton of circular stains on the wood, with how often they sit here like this- late at night, and Link typically makes tea, and more often than not Aaron accepts the offer of a mug for himself…

He looks up, filling the pause with a vague tilt of his head.“I mean, can’t say I’ve never been there,” he murmurs.

“Do you want to talk about it? Doesn’t have to sit so heavy on you when you’re awake, at least.”

Though she gives a shake of her head, there is the faintest flush of pink to her cheeks to indicate that she is flattered. It sounded silly to hear Link say such a thing. They were friends, were they not? They had gotten to know each other over the years, and they had spent more than their fair share of time together (though it was not always a pleasant occurrence when the safety of a kingdom was a concern).

But looking to find an excuse to spend time with her?

“Link, I view you as a companion. We have had the chance to know one another well over the years. You do not need an excuse to be around me. If that is what you wish, then simply say so.”

Eyes are alight with glee as she hurries down the corridor, a smile graced upon rosy lips. “Link! Just the man I was looking for!” she greets with the faintest of laughs as she closes the distance between the two of them. There is something about her expression that resembles a pleased child on Christmas morning.

“I have been working on a musical number,” she begins to explain, hoping this will catch the captain’s interest. “You are a fellow musician - you know how to play both the ocarina AND piano. There is a piece, however, that I have been a bit stuck on,” she confesses, brow furrowing as the corners of her mouth fall into a trace of a frown.

It is GONE as quickly as it has appeared.

“Nonetheless,” she begins once more, the smile soon returning as she brushed a golden lock of hair back behind a pointed ear. “I was wondering if you would be willing to give me your opinion, if you of course are not busy?”

18. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go

That’s a tough one. I’m tempted to say Hawaii, because I’ve heard so much about it being a natural ecology laboratory, with clear gradients up and down the islands of patterns of succession? And I want to hike Volcanoes National Park. 

25. Fictional character you hate

Kylo Ren. He reminds me too much of all the worst parts of my dad without any of his redeeming qualities. Don’t like him at ALL.

26. Fandom that you were once a part of but aren’t any longer

Used to be pretty active in the Half-Life/Portal fandom, before Valve betrayed us and left us hanging on Episode 3/Half-Life 3? I’m still waiting, along with everyone else...
