We need YOUR help!

We'll be producing a video over the next few days on GamerGate, but we need YOUR help!

This video will NOT be monetized, and it is meant to celebrate the diversity of gamers who stand in solidarity against corrupt games journalism. EVERYONE is invited to contribute, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or political affiliation.

What we would like is for you to take a video with your smart phone, webcam, or digital camera saying the following:

"I am a gamer." (If you wish, you may include how you want to be identified, IE race, sexual orientation, gender, etc.)

"I condemn harassment. I demand integrity in games journalism. I stand in solidarity with my gamer brothers and sisters in demanding integrity in games journalism. I support #GamerGate." (If you wish, you may also mention #NotYourShield)

Please send us the link to your video if you upload it to YouTube and send us the link on Facebook or tweet it to us at @BlackTridentTV.

Ladies and gentlemen... The #NotYourShield hashtag currently trending on Twitter is proving once and for all that women, ethnic minorities, LGBT and even Feminists are sick of being used as a shield by gaming media. But the gaming media is shooting back that they're all 'sockpuppet' accounts. (IE, total fakes.) Let's prove them wrong. Send me your webcam videos. Show them that you won't be commoditised by a corrupt group of people who do NOT have your best interests at heart, but their own. Tell them who you are, and that you will NOT be their shield. If I get enough videos, I will compile a video and put it up on social media to be mirrored by whomever wishes to.

Guys it's time to focus on the important shit. The gaming media is who we should hold accountable. Zoe Quinn is legitimately fucking terrible, but she is only one part of this. If we let the focus shift to the things the media is claiming this is about, misogyny, slut shaming, and infidelity, then we lose. 

We have to focus on what's important. Alerting people to what's happening, and holding the gaming media accountable for it's lack of ethics.

Can I get Cliff notes on this whole Quinn debacle? Kotaku has always been a joke so it doesnt surprise me shit is blowing up.

Long story short, a shitty female game developer (Zoe Quinn) massively cheats on her boyfriend. In that boyfriend revealing who he knew she slept with, he accidentally revealed the extent of corruption in the video game media. It’s coming out that she banged Kotaku journalist Nathan Grayson, and very likely one Bill Zoeker of destructoid. In addition to that, her married boss, and two other game developers. But that’s only what we know.

The reaction to that information being revealed is even more telling as it revealed the extent to who she was in with in the industry. Why does it matter? Because Zoe Quinn made a terrible steam game, something that could be called, a non-game, that got favorable reviews from the gaming media, and got up on steam. 

As a result of this information leak, everyone in gaming media and many moderators on game forums and on reddit are taking down any posts or articles about it. It’s an active censorship of that information, because she has friends in high places. 

Which leads us to understand that the gaming media is pushing games not on merit but on how they know the developers. It sheds light on a journalistic media which needs some massive house cleaning. It’s how folks like Anita Sarkeesian get protected whenever it’s revealed that they’ve done something horrible. They all know each other.and in some cases are literally in bed together. It’s a clusterfuck. A category 5 shitstorm.
