What's the foc your boyfriend and you both mentioned in your pinned? Titanverse
Anon you have no idea how very excited I - and Jax, once I told him about it - was to receive this ask. We've been waiting for an excuse to get yapping and, after some consultation, here are the main points that help outline the massive AU that Titanverse represents:
It's much like canon, but there are some key differences
The Fears are common knowledge, and have been for most of human history
Those who actively serve them (whether consciously or not) almost always have striking physical features that reflect their beholden entity, called Fear Marks
There are two types of Avatar: Godhead (human-looking most of the time), and Titan (enormous beast)
The Institute is a powerful, famous entity in this universe, one of the oldest and most prestigious phobiological research institutions in the world. It is in decline, but is still watched over by its paired Avatars: the Architect, a Godhead (Elias Bouchard), and the Archivist, a Titan (Jonathan Sims)
And when it comes to the fic immediately in question ('Garlands of His Own'), which takes place in Titanverse, the following makes up our start:
Martin Blackwood, fully aware of the rumors and controversy surrounding the Institute, applied anyway out of sheer desperation borne of his need to support his mother and himself, and he's just been called in for an interview.
The worldbuilding, not to toot our collective horn, is immense and all-encompassing, and this is absolutely the most detailed and engaging project I've worked on to date. There are original characters integrated into the work, original expressions and manifestations of Fear, creature design and canon divergence... it's like our baby, and I cannot wait for the point at which we share it with you guys.
@a-deed-without-a-name can elaborate, or be tapped in for further questions -- like I said, we would just love to yap.
