From the Moon
Chapter 1
Bloo began to pack his things. He was tired of being unappreciated and controlled. He grabbed one of his backpacks and stuffed his clothes in it.
He heard the apartment door open. He could hear loud clicks on the tile from heels. He sighed. It was about to be World War 3 all over again for the thousandth time.
The woman stood in the doorway of the bedroom with her hands on her hips. “What the fuck are you doing?”
“What does it look like, Areum?” He continued to pack his bags. He didn’t have much there but what he did have he needed to take with him.
“What I mean is why are you doing that?”
“Because I need to go. This is not-“
She cleared her throat. “Not what? Not working? Not what you want?”
He threw his hands in the air. “It’s not healthy for me.” He admitted.
“What the hell are you talking about? So what we argue. All couples do!” She attempted to grab his arm.
He jerked away. His eyes were blood shot red. Not from crying but from pure exhaustion. “We’re not a couple. Let’s be honest, you use me to fuck just like I use you but I can’t do this anymore. We should’ve never crossed that line. I’m always stressed, you’re always down my throat and you encourage the drugs and drinking. My family warned me about you but-“ he took a deep breath. “I just wouldn’t listen.”
She slapped his face as hard as she could. “I will not just stand here and allow you to accuse me of your bad habits! You drink because you want to. You took pills because you wanted to. I never put a gun to your head and made you!”
He shook his head. “You’re right I had a choice but now I’m making the right one. I need help and you can’t help me.” He headed towards the front door.
She ran after him and grabbed his hand and dropped to her knees. “I’ll be better for you I swear! Please don’t leave me. We can be a real couple. We can make this work. All the drinking will stop! Just please don’t go.”
He stared at her on the ground. He felt sorry for her but even worse for himself because he had allowed her to suck him dry of any life or energy. “I feel like I’m dying and if I don’t get some help I probably will. I’m gone.” He pulled his hand away from her.
She watched him walk through the door. She couldn’t believe that he had actually ended whatever they had. She grabbed her phone and let her fingers do the talking. You’re gonna hate the day that you hurt me. I’m going to make your life a living hell! I’m your best friend and you want to throw me away like this? I can’t stand the ground you walk on and you’ll realize that your drinking won’t stop. You’re a lost cause! You’ll need me before I need you.
Shanyia
Mia runs into Shanyia’s room. “Girl have you seen this?!” She shoved her phone into her face.
Shanyia squinted trying to see the phone but it was too close to her face. She pushed her glasses up on her nose. “Mia, calm down. What is it?” She pushed the phone back a little.
“It says that Bloo has admitted himself into rehab.” She revealed.
Shanyia snatched her phone from her. “What?! This can’t be true!” She pulled her own phone out and searched up Bloo’s Instagram account. He had posted a picture of the center and wrote a long passage thanking his fans for being supportive through his time of need. He expressed how he wanted to be better for himself and for them and when he comes back he hoped to be better. Tears filled her eyes. She hated how invested she was in a mere rapper but she couldn’t help but love him as a normal person. She wanted him to be better. She knew he was sick with alcoholism but she didn’t realize just how much help he actually needed.
Mia rubbed her back. “Are you okay? I know it’s hard to hear something like this about one of your faves but just think like this, he’s doing what’s best for him.”
Shanyia nodded. “I know. It just sucks because you never know what all he’s going through. I just hope he has a good support system.” She wiped the fallen tears from her face.
Mia noticed that some of his fans were meeting at the rehabilitation facility later that night to show their support for his recovery. “You wanna make posters and go to the center with his other fans?”
Shanyia nodded. “I’m sure that’ll make him feel good knowing that he still has people who care about him.”
A few hours later they joined the other fans outside the facility. They had some of Bloo’s music playing, holding up signs. Some had letters that they had written to him. Some of the facility staff were outside videoing the phenomena.
Shouts from everywhere made it clear that Bloo was definitely loved and that his fans were sticking by his side.
A guy with a video began recording people.
Shanyia turned to Mia when she noticed the camera heading their way. “Whose that?”
Mia eyed the man. He was y’all, dark and handsome. She fluffed her hair up a bit. “I don’t know but times like this I’m glad I’m single as a Pringle!”
“Um now is not the time to be trying to flirt, Mia!” She slapped her sister’s arm. They weren’t blood sisters but they had been apart of each other’s lives so long that at this point they didn’t even feel like just mere friends.
Mia rolled her eyes. “It’s always a right time to flirt! Maybe if you did more of it you’d have more fun!”
The guy nodded at the ladies and put his camera down when he noticed that Shanyia seemed uncomfortable. “Sorry if you’re camera shy. Me and Daniel are friends and he wanted me to put a video together for his fans.”
Mia shrugged and smirked. “I’m not camera shy at all. You can film whatever you want, she’ll be fine!” She patted Shanyia on the shoulder.
Shanyia rolled her eyes. “She’s definitely not afraid of a camera.”
“Good. You’re too gorgeous not to like the camera.” He complimented.
Mia’s cheeks warmed. “And your name is?”
“Christian Yu. You may not know me but I’m a videographer for the company DPR....ring a bell?” He answered.
Mia thought for a moment. “So you work with that rapper....uhh he has a tag line-“
“Coming to you live.” Shanyia finished dryly. “It’s DPR Live girl!”
Christian smirked. “Well i see you know your rappers. Yeah I work with him a lot!”
Shanyia simply shrugged and stared at the ground. “I know a few.” She answered shyly.
Christian smiled and stared for a moment at Mia. “Well I better get back to it. It was nice meeting you ladies.” He winked towards Mia and walked away.
Mia began to fan herself. “Would you think I was crazy if I said I was in love?”
“Very much so!”
