I saw the thing you reblogged! And. I literally remember you for giving Lance pneumonia (because pneumonia was a huge plot point in a favorite childhood movie of mine so my head always pops up real quick when I see the word) and for that one line. Uuum, can't remember it word for word off the top of my head but basically Shiro kind of goes "and the countdown starts now" about how long sick Lance is going to hold out before he succumbs to pneumonia. Gave me goosebumps.
Hee, thank you! Yeah, my little sister got pneumonia twice when I was young and had to be hospitalized both times, so that has always stuck with me as a very scary and painful illness. I love seeing it in fics, but I think that was the first time I wrote it. I’m delighted that other folks enjoyed it, too.
And yep, that line, that was the end of a chapter, too! Kind of a little cliffhanger. I forget the wording, too, but it was something about yeah, they were running out of time and it was almost gone.
