So have you seen the Into the Woods trailer yet? Thoughts?

I’ve tried to answer this three times and Firefox keeps crashing.

Keeping the singing out of the trailer makes me think either they are marketing towards people that don’t appreciate musicals (smart, of course, but I hope they aren’t gearing the movie in that direction), or that they don’t have anything they feel confident sharing. I realize this may change with subsequent trailers.

HOWEVER, the score sounds lush and gorgeous and I very much look forward to hearing more, and take that as a good sign.

The trailer makes me assume that they’re taking the Witch in a very different direction than the play, which might be a smart choice for a film adaptation. If they are keeping the Witch as the comedic role it is in the play, what they showed of Meryl’s line readings didn’t really make sense to me. But I’ll wait to see what they do.

All in all, they didn’t really show us all that much. The cinematography looks stunning. I’m excited to see future clips. My cynical prediction, however, is that it will be bland and watered down to pacify the masses. I hope I’m wrong.

I’m really glad I wasn’t a fan of Sweeney Todd while that movie was coming out; I feel like it would’ve been really stressful.

Probably Brendan. 

2. If you could be anything on the planet career wise, what would it be?

I'd essentially just be Sutton Foster, does that count?

An apartment in either London, Boston, or New York

Uhm... probably the last full day in Disney World with Mara and Meggie.

Yes.

She's pretty much one of the most flawless people in the world, and she's always there for me when I need her. We don't talk in the car, we sing. With harmonies. I miss her a lot, actually.

8. What is the scariest but most rewarding thing you’ve done in the last year?

I fell in love.

9. Any weird fears?

...pretty much everything? no but really I'm afraid of everything.
