Timothy Bradford does not cry.
Not when he got shot, not when his sister moved away, not when his dad got arrested.
It’s not that he doesn’t know that he’s allowed to cry, allowed to show emotion. He simply can’t, no matter how much it hurts him he can’t show emotion, at least not in front of other people.
But when you after years of infertility issues and false positives, has been feeling off for the past couple weeks, but you’re not ready for the disappointment of finding out you’re not actually pregnant.
One day while Tim is at work you end up going to the doctor without telling him, you need to know whether or not you’re going crazy.
So when the doctor looks at the ultrasound machine with a small smile on her face you can't help but feel excited. She informs you that you are officially 13 weeks pregnant dropping the chances of miscarriage to 1 to 5 percent.
On your way home from you can't stop the happy tears from running down your cheeks, stopping at the store to buy a little baby onesie.
Tim comes home while you're in the bathroom, as he sets his bag on the floor beside the bed. When he looks up he sees the half finished setup with the baby onesie.
When you come back into the room you see him starring at the bed, you mumble something about how it was supposed to be a surprise. But when you look at his face, he's crying. "You mean it? You're really pregnant?"
