It’s Friday night and I’m in a really good mood for the first time in along time. I’m so excited for the night to unfold there’s been this guy who’ve I’ve wanted to get closer to all summer. His name is Brady he’s my older brothers best friend, and he’s coming here to my house soon to go to the state fair with my brother. I’ve known Brady for years he’s always been sweet and respectful. I guess I never paid him much attention but the last 3 months I can’t help but notice how adorable he looks when he’s focused on something, or how he absentmindedly sings to himself all the time and the way he giggles when he’s embarrassed. You could say I’ve been noticing a lot about Brady and I can’t help but think he’s been noticing me to. He and I have been having more conversations when my brother isn’t around and he seems to direct that angelic smile of his towards me more and more. I’ve gotten dressed and I’m kind of hoping to tag along to the fair with them but I haven’t said anything to Corey my brother. Im afraid he’ll get upset he’s kinda protective of me. I guess he thinks if I get with Brady it’ll weird out their friendship. He made a comment to me about it the other night after Brady left our house, “Drool much y/n?” He says with a laugh. “ What?” I said surprised raising my eyebrows. “Look I get it you’ve gotta thing for Brady but could you be a little less obvious last thing I need is for him to notice and think that it’s okay to go after you.” “What would be so wrong with that?” I ask “Well he’s my best friend and I really don’t want to have to kick his ass. You’re my baby sister and I don’t want to see you hurt and I know how boys think and I don’t want any boy thinking of you that way, especially Brady because it would just freak out our friendship.” After that conversation we never spoke of it again. I know my brother and he’s trying to be sweet and protective towards me as he would with any guy. Yet it’s Brady he’s kind of being a selfish ass because he’s more worried how it would affect their friendship.

RIIIIIING… goes the door bell Corey is upstairs so I go to answer the door expecting Brady. I open the door and instead find Lena my brothers girlfriend. She looks beautiful wearing a white sun dress and barley any makeup on her tan face. “Hey y/n wow you look so cute.” She says to me “You look fantastic.” Corey says the words before I can as he comes down the stairs behind me. I step aside and let him go towards Lena, he hugs her and smiles.“ I thought you weren’t gonna be back until tomorrow.” He says Lena had been away visiting her parents so this is quite unexpected. “I came home a day early.” She laughs “Obviously.” I say and laugh, then the door bell rings again and I open the door this time it’s Brady and he looks amazing sun has done his skin well this summer and he’s starting to look so much more mature. “Hey y/n wow you look really pretty.” He says with a blush then looks down. “Watch it Brade.” Corey says quickly sounding angry. “Thanks Brady.” I say with a smile his direction. “Hey Lena you’re home cool you coming with us to the fair?” Brady’s asks Lena. “Yeah I’m crashing guys night sorry, y/n you should come with us it’ll be fun.” “Yeah you should y/n.” says Brady “Sounds fun I’ll grab my bag.” I say gladly and go upstairs to grab my bag before Corey can protest.

This is the most awkward ride I’ve ever experienced, we’re in my brothers truck and Brady and I are in the small back seat. Corey and Lena are in front and Corey keeps giving us death glares through the rear view mirror. Every time we go over a bump Brady’s hand touches mine and I feel like I’m getting electrocuted. It’s wonderful and uncomfortable all at once.
********************** Once we got to the fair we kind of ended up just separating. Corey hadn’t seen Lena in almost a month and just wanted to spend time with her, that didn’t stop him from trying to scare the shit out of Brady first. “Listen its overly obvious that you two are into each other. - at this point I died a little because he was basically telling Brady I was into him and I guess Brady felt the same way because his face just went red- Normally I would be so against you guys being alone together, but I really missed my girl and realize maybe I need to chill. See you guys later. Oh and Brady just because I’m letting this happen doesn’t mean I won’t beat your ass if this doesn’t end with my sister happy.” And with that him and Lena were gone. “He’s super intense it’s not like I asked to marry you all I asked the other night is if he’d be mad if I asked you out.” Brady says as he walks beside me. “What do you mean you asked him about going out with me?” I say in shock. “Well to be honest y/n I really like you and I’ve been staring to see you differently this summer. I’ve been wanting to ask you out for a while and Corey noticed and kept giving me shit for it so I let it go. Then last night you looked so pretty and I just wanted to hold your hand, so I asked your brother if it’d be okay if I asked you out.” “Wow Brady that’s insane.” I say and he laughs “Insane whys it insane?” He looks offended. “No not you asking me out Corey being a jerk about it.” “Well he’s come to his senses now. What do you say we stop talking about this subject and look forward to what I hope to be our first date tonight.” “I say that sounds wonderful.” “Are you hungry?” He asks “I want a fried candy bar let’s go.” He says before I could respond.
******************* We had a great time at the fair we ate and laughed and talked the whole time. Then we were having this amazing moment we were playing ring toss and Brady was kidding around and pretending to show off and won me a giant stuffed Spongebob He was super happy about it it was so cute. After he handed it to me he hugged me and then pulled away and it seemed like he was gonna kiss me. Right when he was leaning in Corey came up behind him and put his hands on Brady’s shoulders. “Awwww how cliche and sweet you’ve won her a stuffed toy . Well guys sorry to interrupt but we’ve gotta get going.” So now we’re in the car on the way home and Brady is holding my hand and it’s amazing. “After we get home I’m gonna go back to Lenas place with her y/n okay.” Corey says to me right when we’re almost home. “Okay cool.” I respond “Hey I almost forgot put your number in.” Brady says quietly only for me to hear and hands me his phone. I do as I was asked.

It’s now 11:47pm and as happy as I am about tonight I wish I got to say goodbye to Brady alone. We pulled up at the house Corey and Lena got out and got in her car and headed to her apartment. Lena is a few years older then my brother and he spends most his time at her apartment. Right when they left Brady said a quick goodbye and walked home. I’ve just gotten in bed and Im about to call my best friend y/bff/n to tell her about tonight when I get a text. “Open your window!” It’s from Brady !!!! I quickly go to my window and see him waiting. “Hey what are you doing here?” I say as I hope the window. “I just wanted to properly say goodbye to you y/n I had a great time tonight.” He says as he climbs into my room. He comes to stand in front of me and leans in towards me and pressed his beautiful lips to mine I feel electrical volts going through my whole body. “So ummm goodbye.” He says then blushes. “Goodnight Brady.” I say with probably the biggest smile I’ve ever worn “Well I’m gonna go before Corey comes home and beats me up.” He says and climbs back through the window. It’s official tonight was the best night I’ve had this summer. I’m so happy as I get back in bed and get under the covers
